"Four men arrested after £750,000 car chop-shop probe raid" Headline from today's local paper. Wonder if this is the gang responsible for the Golf & Touareg thefts?

Maserati in our estate went walkies on Friday night. Thieves came in through the patio doors and lifted the keys while the owner was upstairs sleeping.

Getting bloody depressing this.

Last night, broke into house and took Touareg R and Golf R while we slept. Prior removed CCTV cameras and security lighting before drilling patio doors!

Golf recovered by police, stinger, but Touareg still out there

Long shot I know but Accrington / Great Harwood area

VA16 ECE - white with black leather

Any info contact Lancs police or pm me

Thanks
Bloody vile, the Touareg can be replaced as a 16 plate at least but the fact those runts came into your house is what would make me beyond mad. How's the Golf looking?

My wife's RR is out on the drive with both my cars garaged away. If they break in they're welcome to a high mileage SUV used for the school run and Yoga by my wife, or my insanely high mileage Benz with swirl marks or even my Scooby that I adore but the moment they try to attack my family is the moment I'm willing to go to prison and I'm sure I'm not the only one. A few years ago someone tried to steal my old Audi, luckily the neighbour spotted them trying to open the gate and shouted me out of the house, the little maggot ran off. I always do worry if someone breaks in, because unlike America, if we attack them then WE go to prison. Some little st 19 year old would hopefully kill himself in a V8 RR, V12 Benz or Scooby. I despise thieves.

So you fancy your chances against 3 / 4 nutters with crowbars and knifes?

I'd die for my family if they were attacked but not if they were downstairs, grabbed the keys and off again. Let them kill themselves in my cars, I lose my NCB but get 3 new cars, they get a wheelchair or a funeral.

Did have a funny encounter with a car thief once. Tried to nick my then girlfriend now wife's Cavalier, they nicked the keys from her handbag in a pub in 1995, someone came up to us and said someone was trying to make off in it so us and a few mates ran out to see the rotbox wouldn't start biggrin The lad didn't even get a fine. Although he'd probably done here a favour if he'd gotten away in it, afterall she did have her eye on a MK3 RS Turbo Fiesta

What's getting depressing?

You may not be aware but car thefts in the UK are at an all time low!

70% down in the last ten years.

Long gone are the days when Scratter Steve would be walking back from the Pisspoor Inn at 1am on a Friday night, spots a Nova and decides he'd rather drive home. These days with all the electrics, the only time your car is getting stolen is if someone spotted it as part of a ring. As sick as it is to think, odds are the OP's cars have been ready to be stolen for weeks, maybe months.

Thieves target high end sports car left on driver shocker rolleyesconfused

Cars are getting nicked left, right and centre from around me - if you have a new BMW, AUDI, sporty hot hatch etc you've really got to be on your guard, never mind something more high end!

If anyone attacked my family then I'd be happy to die for them. I keep a bat and my golf clubs under the bed.

What if you come off second best and you're killed? Leaving your kids/wife alone.

All over a car that's insured? Leave the keys downstairs IMHO.

My E-Types are very secure in an alarmed outbuilding. Two of the Three Subarus we have sleep out, the XV blocks the gateway at night and they're not particularly 'nickable'. Should any unwanted guests wish to enter the house, we have two English Bullies who aren't at all welcoming during the hours of darkness. Beyond that I have a strategically placed weapon of choice.
A neighbour of mine has had a few problems with intruders recently, he lost his third Defender in as many years. He now has several electrified areas around his place..........shocking smilesmile
