Free 48 hour test drive in a Laguna - delivered to your door

Hated the Mondeo, found it cheap and nasty. Steering is very direct but on an engine that sluggish it just feels wrong. Was actually a Mondeo LX they gave me. Would also say it feels far too big for the sort of car it's trying to be. And it's slow. Did I mention it being slow?
Took it back today though and picked up the Laguna, and I'm actually quite impressed. It's all full of soft-touch stuff on the dashboard, although I don't really go for the swoopy French design of the dash, the engine seems pretty good. Nice and nippy, quite swift when you need it to be. It's the diesel 150hp they've given me. If I was looking for a car of this ilk one day then I'd probably consider it.

Having had a 2.0 petrol one of these and now just spent the weekend with a 1.5dci tourer I may have to and leave PH.
I slated the 2.0 as it was slow and terrible at accelerating and going round corners while letting me know what was going on.
Sadly I have to admit I was impressed by the tourer. It's not a mega practical people mover, but could shift 2 adults and a couple of kids, or 2 adults and quite a bit of stuff, its not a sexy looking thing, and it hasn't broken any performance records.
What it has done is covered 300 miles, provided me with no stress, been comfy and averaged over 40mpg. Despite a piddly little engine in a huge car the gearing lets it accelerate in town easily, and lets it sit at more than the legal limit with comparitive ease (to my fester with a similar engine).
The handling was still wooly and the throttle response meant any sort of overtake needed thinking about, but it managed quick a and b roads and hasn't killed anyone.
I'm not giving up on the idea of something a bit exciting again in the near future but as adequate rep-mobile tranport on a budget (kind of important in the current climate)then the 1.5 dci tourer would be useful and if I was in the market for a second bigger car with cost the main focus then wouldn't rule this out if I was running something sporty for the weekend.
Cheers renault.

Booked an extended test drive in a vectra with delivery today - took the day off to take delivery of it this morning, though I'd call the local dealer to see what time roughly and they know nothing about it and they didn't even offer to rectify the situation, they couldn't give a damn!
Marvellous service from the sales dept at Perrys there!
We are actually buying a new car, so I now know that the Vauxhall Vectra is one to cross off my list!

Getting mine in about half an hour.
When they called earlier today i mentioned about the age limit, he said min is 23 years old.
I said i was 22 but was seriously considering a purchase after the test drive and he said, i can sort that out for you.
That was it, i'll let you know how i get on
Best Regards
