The E28 528i ETCC car went for more than that when last sold IIRC.

The E28 528i was the only "officially" sanctioned by BMW E28 race car, which is eligible for pretty much anything historic. The E28 M5 was never homologated for racing by BMW - they did not make enough of them to fulfill the criteria - same as the E24 - not enough M635CSi could be made within the timeframe.

Thus, regardless of how stonkingly good this particular car is, it would always be cheaper than a bona-fide E28 528i race car. I would go with £90k hammer price + premium + VAT

At first I thought, "oooh, headlamp grills; that's worthy of an approving grunt"

Then I looked at the picture a bit longer. Just who or what the JTFC is that driving it?! Christ, it looks like a transgender SS guard from someone's nightmare!

Remember leering over the 530i at the 73MM. 'Tis lovely, and yet I think out of that field I'd probably choose something that was born on the other side of the pond.

Having considered your comments and reflected on said picture, I feel I must agree. I've also damn near wet myself laughing too!

I do apologise for keep posting recent Eifel Rallye pics, but Mr Leins really does have immaculate taste.

Oh dear God, I can assure you if you saw my music collection or wardrobe you wouldn't say that! wink

Great pics ess! Is the Eifel Rallye on again next year? I want to give my old Audi a run down somewhere that involves an Autobahn next summer and this seems like the ideal event to head to
