Aprrox 36:1 at my estimate

Pretty cool though
Awesome, one of the best. Issued by Glamorgan in 1904.

What's the thread rules for here then vs I'm guessing the crap plates thread? I've got some more I can post...
Not sure if anyone has answered this, and there isn't full consensus, but I think we can all agree:-

- No dodgy fonts
- No mis-spacing (although some liberal types are OK with a small bit of this....)
- Older/ shorter plates definitely preffered to new-style, and originals to DVLA sale jobs - but again, views differ
- I think a general rule of thumb would be if a plate is trying to be what it is not, it's over to t'other thread!

Anyone else?

Top Spot, Jonsey! Still showing as on this car. Not sure how many people would want the plate; a 1 x 3 would normally make the car worth restoring just to transfer, but in this case I'm not too sure...

The board goes along quite well. I think the friendly banter keeps down the number of plates that are subject to being confiscated or a large fine as elements of the design have been carried out by the owner. Some of this type are interesting though and could still be good if correctly displayed.

Judging by what goes on, as exposed here:

I guess an identity swap would be quite easy!

I am not recommending illegal acts.

Old Armagh plate issued 1965. I'm guessing it's a long way from home now?

Correct me if I am wrong but can a plate only be transferred/retained from a vehicle with an up to date MOT?

Yes. And the plate needs to be transferable as some aren't. A famous case is that of '1 AN' which resides on a Morris Minor and always will.

OK.

For those that can be transferred, what if you get a sh!tter with a great plate MOT'd by a friendly tester who will accept you will scrap the donor once the plate is yours? hehe

How can certain plates not be transferable?

Is it those plates that have already been transferred once already ??!! Not sure to be honest

On a separate note, I see D1SCO around my way on a new shape Range Rover.
