If you think it is bad outside...
The interior is awful with nasty hard plastic and then you drive it!
It is slow, niosy and truly without any rederming features.
Had one as a hire car and left the company in no doubt i am not having another.

The only positive is you sit fairly high up, so great visibility for battling through Paris traffic - otherwise it does nothing well.

Off topic but...

My mother-in-law just turned up in a hire car. It's a thing called a Fiat 500L....It is flipping ENORMOUS!!! It positively seems to dwarf a W124 (which I thought was a big car) and yet there seems no significant space internally. What's the point?
They're ok, I did hate them before we hired one.
No way as big as a w124 though!

There's the 500L and there's also the "MPW" version of it, which is even more ridiculously gopping still.

That's the fella!

W124s are small compared to many modern cars - I parked next to a merc CLA earlier today and it didn't seem to use any less space than my car!

Funnily enough Ed advertises it on tv now...
What does the ellipsis signify?
He liked it so much he now gets paid to advertise it?

I also have learnt a new word today biggrin
Ah I thought you meant Ed China used it on Wheeler Dealers as he was paid to, which seemed unfounded. But you didn't so I'll shut up now!

If that's a taxi - it has rape-alarm wheels.

Never seen the interior, but the outside is utterly vomit-summoning. What a bloody awful thing, the original 500 was a great-looking car, then they got BINI syndrome and fked it up. frown
Isn't the MINI supposed to be a good laugh to drive?

It may be a big car, but if it was the size as the original it either wouldn't pass safety regs, or if it did it'd be so cramped nobody would buy it. The current mini is much better at what it's for in the current market.

By the way, I really don't like the original mini hehe

Ex GF had an '07 Mini Cooper and I used to enjoy stealing it once a week.

What on earth were they thinking with the rear quarterlights? Why would you not integrate them into the roofline? Crazy design. Car looks terrible.

Closer to a Victor Kiam, although Ed didn't like it enough to buy the company

A truly nasty looking car. yes

The case for the defence, m'lud.

My Mum owns one. It's perfect for a pensioner. She loves it. I don't mind driving it. But then I enjoy driving anything, it doesn't have to set the road on fire to be fun.

She has had it chipped with a van Aaken diesel tuning chip thingy though so it's a bit more sprightly than the original 85 (I think) bhp from the 1.3 dieselist engine. I like it. As with all FIATs and it seems Italian cars, it has a really nice light feeling clutch and gearbox. Even the Multipla she had before felt nice and light in that regard and was quite a pleasure to drive really.

Does look silly big next to my Mazda 6 estate though!

Does it have more benefit for turbo engines? And more specifically turbo diesel? Whether it'd make much difference on an NA petrol I've no idea.

Be interested in hearing your results though.

I think it should have benefits on all cars, but I reckon that turbo D's will benefit most from a clear out. The E46 is a 320d, which should be an ideal candidate for the experiment

Bargeists. I'm interested in a 91 SL, but have just discovered it was originally registered in Hong Kong, and imported and registered in the UK in 2003.

Should this bother me? Anything in particular to look out for as a consequence? Hoping to view on Saturday, so early responses appreciated. Thanks in advance.
