O/T, but do you know of any comprehensive S14 build threads on standalone management?
Yes, Steve Singleton's Sport Evolution. He's on here as 'stevesingo', fully rebuilt, by him, using lots of trick bits, running Motec with direct coil ignition, carbon airbox ..............ETA
Here is a link to his entire rebuild thread.

As E30M3SE said, it's a Racing Dynamics, specifically a K55. Whilst they made a number of E31 (8-series) K55s, only a single K55 Compact was produced, which cost the Italian equivalent of £90k back in 1997 IIRC. For that you got a slightly enlarged version of the 850ci's 5.4L V12 installed, and given a few tweaks to produce 424hpI seem to recall a claim that 0-170mph was possible in 5th gear alone

Quite partial to an Avus Silver one myself, although most are down as "purple" on the V5 due to the base coatL100NYY said:

Some old bodged up tractor of a 911 or a genuine, full on world champions WRC?

this looks very clean and great value compared to the ones discussed recently.

That is a great colour on an original 2 door!http://www.ebay.com/itm/262328059405?rmvSB=true
after some deliberation my list is as follows:
elan 26r replica. ship has sailed long ago for me to stomach costs associated with building a 911 outlaw, and this will whup it everywhere it counts.
lister bell stratos, 3.2 gta engine on throttle bodies. to supplement the loss of pork.
y61 nissan patrol tow car. king of the dubai tailgaters yes, but i also spend a lot of time professionally in dubious places and the patrol is a mighty fine piece of kit both on and off road.
either a karmann ghia or a 356 coupe replica. subaru engine, a/c, air ride. totally scene yo but reckon this would make for a neat daily driver.
stupid project: spaceframe 560sec silhouette racer with a v12 on straight pipes and ITB's.
cessna 172: no more expensive than any of the above really yet gives a much more unique perspective to the world.

RE: your Patrol, the thing I find most alarming about them is their turn of speed, even out of the box. I understand that an RB26 conversion is but a fistful of dollars and a determined slam of the bonnet away, too
You know when you've been out in the desert sufficiently long when a tailgate terrorist Nissan or Toyota makes your 'list'.
Cessna a god shout. PPL is on my to-do list when I retire.
