Silver V10 vs Silver V8
Tough one. Don't know where my money would go if it was me.
The E39 is nice though.
And the E60 has got a bit of a poncy interior.
But it does have a V10.
Buut the E39 still looks the dog's doo-dahs.
And it is all the car you'd need without being too much.
But the E60 does have a V10, in a saloon car, and they go like fark.
But...
Etc.

That E60 is a bit scary is it not? I'd want to see what the damage was. Surely to write one of those off it'd be a huge repair bill?
Or stolen/recovered.Not *that* huge a bill, 60% of present value is enough for insurers to pay out rather than fix these days and that doesn't account for an awful lot of bodywork any more given I've seen quotes for £2k+ for a vehicle being keyed. Would be subject to an inspection in any case.
But yes, scary in general.

Hadn't thought about stolen/recovered angle. They are truly amazing cars, I seriously hope I can afford one when I next change. My buddy that's had 3 of them and now an F10 swears if he had space he'd buy another E60 to keep for the weekends. Tales of a £2.5k clutch every 30k are a bit scary along with the £1000 for tyres, £1000 for brakes. That said, the CLK hasnt exactly been cheap to run and I sure as hell know where i'd rather be ploughing money. Not *that* huge a bill, 60% of present value is enough for insurers to pay out rather than fix these days and that doesn't account for an awful lot of bodywork any more given I've seen quotes for £2k+ for a vehicle being keyed. This is from the "Should I buy a cheap V12 (or something)" thread.
Whatever, it sounds amazing.
Fruity sounding S600

Chaps,
Does anybody know of a decent exhaust place on the the surrey/hampshire border?
Been offered a custom stainless system for the CLK but apparently one of the mounts has to be 'modified'.
Probably a bit too far away for you but I'm dropping the C43 at a place near Orpington and the M25 tomorrow, to get a custom replacement section done in stainless. I'll report how it pans out in a week's time.Does anybody know of a decent exhaust place on the the surrey/hampshire border?

Thoughts on car and vendor appreciated...
Then there's also this to mull over: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...
Gash ///M kidney badge and wind deflectors aside, they're hardly the things to be concerned about.
As a keeper rather than a flipper though - seems value, non?

Grubby, but a late one, so the revised engine, claimed 1 owner from new and FSH, plus the lovely full leather option, even though it's a dull as fk colour combination, and it's the most local all in its favour.
The first one almost looks a bit cheap (you know, for a sub-100k miler from a dealer known to charge good money). I haven't dealt with NJ direct - but have read the same mixed reviews you've no doubt seen.Thoughts on car and vendor appreciated...

Personally, I wouldn't run a V10 on my own dime. Too much bork risk sans warranty for me.
And I don't think they suit silver quite so well. Le Mans is defintely the best colour for them.
So of the 3, I'd be going "eyes wide open" to see the NJ car.

You've echoed my own thoughts mostly, not a fan of silver on an E39 M5 either, but it's mitigated by full leather - and we all know how much better that is. There's a lovely looking Silverstone one in Surrey on a private ad - it's perfect apart from having the flat bottomed 7 Series spec Comfort seats.A few will be getting their tyres kicked this week and one hopefully found to be a good'un and bought by my birthday in a few weeks now the house is sorted at last.
The Imola Red GMS car is just going to be too dear I think based on what I'd expect he'd want for it, whereas ~£10k leaves a decent war chest for battling bork.

If the Imola one is still for sale, then he's had a while and might be open to a cheeky offer. But when I visited, it had a flat battery and clearly hadn't been run for a little while. He'd "sold" it to someone who was struggling to raise finance and was waiting for the guy to sort himself out. He then called to say the car was back on the market but I'd plumbed for the B10 by then.A few will be getting their tyres kicked this week and one hopefully found to be a good'un and bought by my birthday in a few weeks now the house is sorted at last.

I do like the heritage leather on the silver one. Substantially nicer (to look at and sit on) than the multi-coloured jobbies.

I'll just leave this here, Speak to North, Personally it combines the best bits of both.......Thoughts on car and vendor appreciated...

B5's can be upgraded to B5S form.
There are also five F11 B5 BiTurbo Touring cars and just one E34 B10 4.6 Touring and that's the lot for rhd five series V8 Tourings, 25 cars in 19 years so not many to choose from.
