Cammers acceleration looked like panic attempt at getting out of way to me, and it was the lunatic bus driver who caused that panic.

Bus was legally entitled to travel maybe 3mph faster than it was before the overtake- so driver knew that his overtake would be suicidal unless either car slowed down, he substantially exceeded speed limit, or oncoming traffic took evasive action. He was not entitled to assume any of these- he appears to have assumed all of them.

Either way he needs to lose his job and license.
The fk is wrong with you?
Is that actually how you think, or are you trolling?

"Hey, I'm in an ever decreasing gap I created. Better accelerate into it, rather than hit the breaks and he'll fly right by."
Well, if you think that bus driver was driving safely, just say so! I certainly don't think cammer's reaction was a good one- but he didn't create the situation. Don't really understand the ' Are you trolling' unless it is just meant as abuse.
So a bus is trying to overtake you, so just increase sped from 27 to 37 mph.

He certainly did create the situation.)

I bet he slowed down a bit after that.

He was lucky he didn't slide into the side of that truck.

The manual says to stay below 5500rpm until you hit 1200 miles and then get it serviced.

Even leased, surely they'll know you haven't done that?
Maybe so. Do we think press launch cars or other cars roadtested in magazines or similar arent abused more...?
Media cars will always be run in and serviced before delivery.

Why's the cam car on the horn? It doesn't become dangerous until after the horn.

Maybe the cam is partly responsible. Maybe the pickup was going for the single overtake which he would have completed before the solid white but heard the horn and thought "ahhh, someone who objects to being overtaken" and then made a crap decision...

Nasty....

That lorry had a far better viewing point, and I would be surprised if he did not see this unfolding. He could have given the car somewhere to go, had he used that big pedal.

We'll never know. The pickup is clearly returning to the left before the solid white but then (stupidly) decides to go back out. Why did he go back out?

Using the horn was a bad decision in this circumstance.

No way was that nobbers going to pull back in look at the speed he overtakes at he only had the brakes on to slow for the corner.

Maybe the cam car was using his horn to warn the overtaker of a white line and blind corners.

Alternatively or more correctly.

The MPV had the best viewing point, he must have seen what was about to happen. He could have stayed in his lane and not nearly cause a head on.

From the comfort of my armchair, my initial reaction if i had been the cam car was

1) hang back until the van had cleared the overtake, to see if it was safe to proceed past the artic

2) noticing the big get in arrow on the lane i was on ,would have alerted me to the possibility of someone coming towards me on that bit of the road. ( as was proved almost at once) very similar to the 'warning' in the Motorway accident where the chap in front swerved at the last moment, and cam man was left with a queue of stationary traffic with no reaction time left to brake

That was my armchair reaction too. Firstly the cam car was following the van far too close.

Also, and this is proper armchair stuff, there was no really need to go into the side of the lorry, if the van fitted through the gap there should of been no problem for the car. Simply a case of following the van too close, being suprised by the oncoming car and not having enough time to react.

The van veers back in front of the lorry though before the oncoming car actually arrives, by the time the oncoming car is at the cam car the gap is pretty tiny, scarey stuff for the cam car.

^ IMO blame sits very much with the MPV mentallist, but cam car's take home lesson - don't follow vans so bloody closely!
An awful lot of cam carnage seems to be from juts watching the vehicle in front, not looking up the road.

There's no way the camera car could have seen the MPV even if he was further back

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. A black hole sucks time and matter out of the Universe; a white hole returns it.
