Or, he was looking for more ammunition for ridicule in his other posts, and found he had to backtrack...? ;-)
I was wondering about the bloke on the verge of 'cyber stalking' me and making bizarre threats so I took a look at his posts and found he's not had a good time of it. I can imagine that in his shoes I'd probably be acting a little irrationally as well.
I could of course just have ignored all that and carried on taking the piss with everyone else but that wouldn't be cricket would it?

Quite. It had gone far enough. Plenty of other wild comments on this thread to explore.

My contribution (though generally I've never had a problem with car sales and will happily recommend the professional ones to friends, even if a fair journey is required)

Whilst in the US, and in at out of state hire car, had stopped off to look at an American classics dealership. Just browsing the cars and admiring and the owner came over. Briefly got talking (was clear that've weren't buying) . He saw the hire car and...

"oh so you guys are from England, huh? I didn't know you could drive over..."

A bit of a jaunt, if pushed I think I would go via the bering strait.

Sales cretin at a Mercedes dealer.

"Actually we designed the distance sensor lights and warning beeper because of feedback from chauffeurs. They didn't like the constant beeping so we changed it."

Now come on, taking the piss out of hard of thinking car salesmen is fair sport but using examples from America is really below the belt.

We may think our car salesmen are not the sharpest tools in the box but at least they're not American.

Not that I have anything against the Americans but they are second only to the Dutch in lacking intelligence.

(Apologies to the odd American or Dutchican who is quite bright but just be grateful you don't follow your nations stereotype)

In the real world I don't think anyone cares if something beeps.

Maybe not. Most Chauffeurs I have supplied cars to hate beeps (they tell me it disturbs whichever MD/CEO they have on board, remember these guys spend a lot of time on the phone) Perhaps they are taught to do this @ chauffeur school. smile

I think it's probably time to lay off TVR1, if his posting history is to be believed he hasn't had the best of times recently. frown
Point taken, and entirely agreed... and the fact you're the one making it shows you to be a gentleman, Motorrad.
Or, he was looking for more ammunition for ridicule in his other posts, and found he had to backtrack...? ;-)
He's been getting himself in a tizzy in another thread - he's offered to insure a potential £100K loss from a bet for £750 and thinks he can't fail to make a profit. Let's hope he works in Parts or something and isn't actually involved in putting deals together.
Sad that even when a person seeks to do the right thing some others try and twist the knife by questioning his motivation.

Evening all.

Firstly, as Zwolf has confirmed thumbup I am indeed a ! smile

However, please don't take the sympathy too far. Yes, the past few weeks have been challenging but please don't let that be an excuse for not ripping the piss out of me.

Having said that, for those that have chosen to look up my posting history, I'm thankful for your thoughts. Quite unnecessary but I really do appreciate it.

And then, I find a member who named me in another post. He found my name because he looked up my posting history and found my brothers full name, did a bit of Googling and found me. You did, didn't you?

All I can say, NPI is;

I'm really sorry for you and how your mind works.

Now, back to us salesmen. I'm going to let you all into a secret. Here's a training video.....

As for NPI, I hope the mods have taken note, we don't need verminous trash like that here.

I assure you that I didn't look back at your posting history - I didn't need to, I already knew who you are. Anyway, I only posted your first name - how would I get that from your brother's name?

I included your name as a bit of a subtle warning after you included someone's name in your rather threatening post. When you work, ultimately, for a large American corporation, it's probably not the brightest idea to make threats on a public forum that make use of resources available to you by dint of your employment.

Is it just me that finds it ironic that a thread about stupid things salesmen say has been rather taken over by salesmen saying stupid things?

I started reading that and thought that you were actually a decent adult.

And then you had a pop at someone for doing exactly what you did in the cringe-gate post, naming them from info that you found through their profile.

Your 'Albert' thing was a pathetic 'threat' (although hilariously totally wrong) and you've got the audacity to accuse someone else if being pathetic for doing it.

Grow up.

Many thanks for that. I've spent about 10 minutes on it and have other things I need to do today bit I am interested in what the point of it is. Could you give us an overview on what the purpose is of showing us the video? I got as far as the bald bloke taking the piss out of the bloke who said he had to check with his wife.

I take it that this is a video about how not to sell and also how not to motivate salespeople?

On your first point, if that is the case, Please accept my apologies.

On the second point, are you kidding? Just to put the record straight, about 2 seconds before I hit 'submit' in my original post, I took the time to google the posters 'name'. wink

You included my name as a subtle warning? Nope, you included it 'cos you are a dhead. You clearly think you know who I work for and feel that you have some sort of hold over me. Unfortunately for you, you are wrong on both counts. I will, however, give you the credit of actually spelling it correctly. Finally, so that there can be no mistake, as I am aware that you have difficulty in understand if someone is being insulting or not.

Go and fk Yourself.

That's clear enough, isn't it?
