There probably aren't many cars without auto lights any more, the problem being you can over-ride them!
Please show me where to override my auto lights on my Merc S430. Annoying when sat in a car park waiting for someone and if you have the ignition on the lights auto come on so they are on when just trying to get the radio. And no I dont mean the DRL's.

As I drove home last night, I got caught up behind a Juke that wouldn't move from the outside lane of the dual carriageway, but also wouldn't exceed 60mph.
Yes, we were overtaking a few trucks and so forth, but it was frustrating that I wanted to make a bit better progress than the Juke was allowing.

Sweet relief, I thought, when he/she finally moved across to the left on the approach to a roundabout where I was turning right, joy, they must be going left, as there is only right and left at this particular roundabout, and no straight ahead option.

My relief was short lived. Mr/Mrs Juke driver then was alongside me at the front of the roundabout queue, where they then proceeded to pull out just a bit too close to a car coming from the right (cue heavy braking and horn action from that guy) and then went all the way around the outside of the roundabout to also turn right! Right! And guess what, as soon as they exited, still on Dual carriageway, they were straight back to the outside lane again as they exited, just ahead of me yet again (as I didn't pull out in front of the oncoming car) and now with nobody even to overtake!
Utter knob of course, but why not just undertake? Would save you an awful lot of bother. I must undertake (without changing lanes or exceeding) circa 20 cars every day, that's an average of over 1 per mile of multi laned roads. Saves me literally days of my life every year. Try it.

Mine isn't like that. Thumbsnap being the useless software it is has rotated my image. However you will see there isn't anything labelled "auto"

No key no lights on, set to "off"

Add the key and ignition and that light has illuminated green (hard to see) while still in the off position. Doesn't do that when light outside so not a fault.

In your car park situation, you could use the parking lights.
Or if you move it to the right, isn't that sidelights?

Been a while since i've driven that model, W220?

If so I think radio works without ignition in P2 regardless, you wont be opening windows/roof etc after 10 mins or if you open & close doors though, if not turn ignition to P2 & put `parking light` on left or right, dont forget to return switch to centre if leaving car!!

The set of absolute plonkers at my local bank (other customers). I've been in and out over the last few weeks due to handling a lot of cash for work and dear god the queues are always 6 people deep inevitably with people clogging up the people behind the window with stupid blood questions!

"Can you tell me when my car tax is due out?"
"I just got this bill from talk talk, have they taken the money"?
"Can you explain, in detail, every transaction on my account since 2014?"
"Should I cancel my direct debit to Sky?"

I'm finding it hard to resist the urge to scream at half of these idiots to learn how to use internet banking. What a set of time wasters honestly fook off out the way and have some consideration.

There was traffic, in lane 1, mostly lorries but also even slower cars, and so a large enough gap didn't exist. Otherwise, yes, I do this also usually because I have learned that few enough people will move over when they are firmly planted in the outside lane, no matter how far below the limit they are going.

Absolute bellend of a woman on Bunford roundabout in Yeovil today. It's a pretty standard 4 exit roundabout, I'm taking the 3rd exit and as I go round I'm watching the 2nd exit because people take their chances there quite a lot (rarely gaps in traffic if you're pulling out from there) and it's a good job I was because I see this woman caning down the empty right turn lane. Naturally at seeing this I cover the brake and lo and behold without even adjusting her gaze from right in front of her she comes hurtling onto the roundabout probably at about 30 very nearly into my front left wing. Had I been a less experienced driver who might not think to look at the exits you're passing then my new car which I picked up 5 days ago would probably be a write off.

Absolute cockwomble. Only when I shouted some choice words out the window did her husband think to apologise.

The biker on the M25 in the J29-30 traffic today passing the queuing traffic between lanes 3-4.

That part is fine.

The blue strobing LEDs in your headlights, with your lights programmed to flash high to low beam automatically, just like a real police bike - combined with a 'Polite think bike' tabard on makes you a monumental stroker.

I hope you get caught by a real cop with that kit and have the book thrown at you.

The blue Scenic KV06 KVS or similar, who pulled out infront of me from a side road while I was doing 60 in a 60. Made worse by the fact that the black A1 and the white C Class also decided to follow like sheep, resulting in myself suddenly ending up at the back of a queue. Made even more worse by the Scenic deciding to do 40 ish for the remaining stretch of road. Luckily the Merc turned off, I was able to overtake the A1 and then the Scenic as well. Then the bellend in the Scenic decides to tailgate, as if somehow an old dirty Renault is somehow intimidating. Then lost him in the 50 zone on the M5 as he did about 45 ish..

Then returning home, same stretch of road, I'm fourth in the queue of cars stuck behind a red Qashtt doing 35-40ish in the same 60. I see the Golf two cars up looking for an overtake, we get to a good stretch and the Golf overtakes two cars, I overtake three cars plus then the Golf. Putting Reg's overtaking videos to practice, results worked well.

As I drifted back from L2 to Lane 1 this evening on the A3 (No Middle Lane moron-ing here biggrin )

The tt on a bike who felt this was the ideal time to undertake me. I saw him VERY late and ducked back into L2. Classic "Where the fk did you come from?!?!" He paused but then continued his undertake and then gave it all the arm waving. Then carved off between the cars ahead and undertook someone else who also nearly knocked him off.

he was clearly riding like a bell, but if you had hit him, you saying that you had not seen him ("drifted from L2 to L1", "where the fk did you come from" etc) would be the verbal trigger for the coppers to utterly throw the book at you. Essentially you manoeuvred into another road user's path. Whilst he was probably riding irresponsibly for doing an undertake, that itself would not be the cause of the accident. Your part would have been the cause.

Two this morning.

The usual I'll do 58mph on the dual carriageway until someone tries to overtake Volvo driving twunt and a BMW three series.

Got a bit of distance on me doing forty-five-ish through a forty zone but I caught up in the national speed limit section as they were only doing fifty-ish. I had a clear view ahead, signaled, pulled out to overtake and just as I was in the perfect PIT position Mr BMW puts his phone down and mashes his right foot. I had the momentum to get by but then Mr BMW decides to hold his headlights on full beam the whole time he was behind me. I had to almost come to a complete stop at the next bend because I could not see where I wanted to go thanks to high beams in my mirrors.

I'm so glad BMW's come with "Intelligent" headlights now because the safe operation of them is beyond this owner.

The absolute cocksocket (and presumably fully paid up member of of APIS) who, on the inside lane in queuing (in both lanes) traffic on the dual carriageway A505 approaching the Royston roundabout, closed right up to prevent my (indicated) move from the outside lane into the inside lane. I wasn't pushing in you small minded, self obsessed, slack jawed, drooling spacktard - if you used your sodding mirrors you'd have sodding seen the flashing sodding blue sodding blue lights approaching, wanting to get through in the outside lane, you sodding total sodding utter world sodding class onanist.

APIS? Has anyone heard from WD39 recently? Is he still with us? New user name, perhaps?
