You're right - what's not to love about a nail of a Ferrari that's slower to 60 than a Clio 172?

BUT it's a Ferrari and has 12 cylinders. A Clio is a Renault and has 4. No contest.

I suspect that 400 only runs on four, too.

The glamour of a Ferrari with the running costs of a 4 pot?

How is bodywork "edgy"? Like a serial killer on day release - it'll probably knife you, but it might not.

The fees put it just over the £5k budget, but you could have got a red, V12 Ferrari for £5k yesterday. Sounds mint too wink

The Prince of Borkness.
That implies that there's a King of Brokness
Not necessarily.

Not my first, or even fifth choice of interior colour scheme. However, in terms of VFM, it looks respectable:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...

An M62 engined 740i with claimed fully documented service history, 94k miles and a "long" MoT: £1.5k

Alternatively, for a couple of hundred extra £ this example on 18s and with an RAC warranty of some description could be worthwhile, the trade-off an extra 30k miles:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...

No interior pics though. £1,695

For a later offering, a mere extra £500 gets a facelift example on Style 32s that's still hanging around:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...

Full service history and nearly months MoT and tax.

This one claims to be an iL, but unless my sense of proportion is buggered, certainly doesn't look like one:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...

Still, looks to be in good condition and unmolested. £2,390

Another misbilled iL, this time definitely a shorty and a Sport to boot:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...

£5k.

Thus concludes my latest E38 ponderings. biggrin

I've not had a single bite on my car so will spend tomorrow doing the 'Bay.

Meantime, I've found this as a sub-barge stopgap.

Utterly infuriating that I've got the money waiting to buy it, but I cannot have two cars - even temporarily.

If you get/ try this please tell us what it was like. A 200 E for £350 even needing bodywork attention is interesting at the very least.
