That’s a hell of a lot of money, isn’t it?

I’m hopelessly out of touch.

Just a ‘normal’ 964 Turbo in Mint or Midnight would suffice
Very sold but very lovely.

For some reason I can’t link to the images on my phone.
Me too except first one

A fair bit more money but black/black would be preferable over white/grey:

They just look so right.

I saw a white Cayenne today, with white wheels.

Ignoring the colour of that one, I must say they make a cracking work van.

Can’t say I’m usually a fan of white 911’s, but that 964 Turbo would look great down here in the sunshine…. And I’m all for saving €300k vs the black one.

That Cayenne is far too posh for a work van wink

Here’s mine…

I parked next to an X5 that vintage yesterday,

A) I think they’ve aged rather well (in the right spec/not chavved)
B) They look relatively compact now

They still have a bit of that old school e39 feel to them.

One of my mates has a 3l petrol he never uses now. It is Gold. He keeps telling me to buy it but I just dont see myself in a Gold Car. I've asked him for some recent pics. I suppose it is a bit different without being too brash.

Yeah, they are about the same size as a new X3. Mine’s totally unmolested… 2005, diesel, 6spd auto, no msport pack so small wheels and standard suspension, nappa leather and ancient sat nav. Only 135k kms (c.85k miles).

It’s a great work van and airport car. Went to Cadiz for a few day last week and it managed 33mpg there and back at 75-80mph.

Meanwhile, I just popped out to get a few bits for a job and this was parked outside the store… not seen one before and I hope it’s a while before I see another.

Good grief… someone’s spent at least €140k on that (starting list price in Spain according to
Google).

Neighbour had a 4.8iS and put almost 200k miles on it (kept extending the warranty each year)! Did sound rather good I must admit.

This

Must be one of the best sounding BMW for a while. I have made a couple of half heart'ed attempts to buy a 4.8is recently. But in the end I decided to just fix my 550 seeing as I've had it nearly 9 years now and so it deserves a bit of TLC. So it's currently under going minor surgery with somebody called Darren Woods. He believes the misfire is being caused by a water damaged control unit for the Valvetronic. No I didnt know what that was but I do now.

200k in a V8 X5! Did he get Christmas cards from Shell?

I do have a huge amount of admiration for anyone who puts big miles on something like that. I managed 120k in a 3 litre 1 Series, but doing it in a V8 is proper dedication smile

It’s okay, he doesn’t have the 4.8iS anymore…….

…….he replaced it with a 4.4 XDRIVE50I M Sport

The sister car to my E38 B12 5.7 L Alpina had 265k miles on its 5.7 V12 when I viewed it a few years ago, and this very last E31 B12 5.7 had done over 400k km back in 2016 when I spotted it.

Not really an option… cars have to have factory fitted wheels and tyre sizes… so I could fit a set of 20’s with a 275/40f 315/35r, as they were homologated for the E53 on a 4.8i, but not a set of big knobblies as they weren’t originally homologated for any version of the car.

Plus the ride/handling would be st laugh

Car modding isn’t much of a thing here as the iTV (mot) is super strict. No way you’d get away with a Momo on a 996 here like we all have in the UK. Immediate mot fail…. plus the traffic police would be all over you at one of their regular roadblocks… Spain has a lot of police… but I’ve never seen a speed trap and there are virtually no speed cameras biggrin
