Not really an option… cars have to have factory fitted wheels and tyre sizes… so I could fit a set of 20’s with a 275/40f 315/35r, as they were homologated for the E53 on a 4.8i, but not a set of big knobblies as they weren’t originally homologated for any version of the car.

Plus the ride/handling would be st laugh

Car modding isn’t much of a thing here as the iTV (mot) is super strict. No way you’d get away with a Momo on a 996 here like we all have in the UK. Immediate mot fail…. plus the traffic police would be all over you at one of their regular roadblocks… Spain has a lot of police… but I’ve never seen a speed trap and there are virtually no speed cameras biggrin
It may be rose tinted glimmers, but I recall mile upon mile of smooth tarmac with almost zero policing of speed limits.

I think you can get correct size tyres in nobbly for the 18 inch fitments. All factory sizes. Nothing modded.

I’ve owned here for 10 years and lived here for the last 4.5 years… I’ve never seen a speed trap. Police on the motorways don’t seem that bothered IME… I’ve passed them a number of times at c.150kph (120 limit) following other cars and they don’t seem interested.

I do see at least 2 or 3 traffic checks a week… usually in a morning… a couple of ‘Traffico’s’ on a roundabout doing ITV and document checks. Never been stopped myself, but I have a current ITV sticker on my windscreen.

Otherwise, know of only 2 fixed cameras in the area between Malaga and Estepona… both have massive signs around half a k before them.

Roads are reasonable…if I turn left out of our resort I’m on the A397 Rhonda Road… 50km of smooth, winding country A road… but you’d have to be up and out early as it’s full of Spanish in shopping trolleys doing 60kph most of the time.

And the Spanish do love a speed hump… they are fking everywhere once you’re off the main roads, and some of them are massive! bd things.

Maybe, but why? It would ride and handle worse than it currently does, plus it would be noisier, and probably less economical.

Plus it’s a near 20 year old, diesel SUV… I’m not too fussed what it looks like as it’s not going to impress anyone at the best of times laugh

All true

But then you can drive through muddy fields or on the beech or anywhere without roads. That's the dream right there. Go anywhere.

M3 box connected to a V12 sounds like a short term option but what do I know!

The old girl isn't that punchy.
300bhp Vs the M3's 343bhp
332 lb.ft Vs 269 lb.ft

Looking at some of the monster tuned cars running forced induction with way bigger numbers, the box should be fine.
And I think it may be the same box as the E39 M5 FWIW.

I do love an E32, but I somewhat blame the 750i for starting the “bigger is better” grille debacle that has ultimately gotten a little out of control biggrin

Our E46 M3 drift/track car made 590bhp on the dyno at Evolve. Standard box - no issues whatsoever. Provided you start with a good box, change the fluid regularly, the Getrag is as tough as they get…

It must have been when Mr L had decided his life had more meaning elsewhere and he had been missing for a while. We like it much better with you back so dont do that again, ever, please.

You can see how your posts have clearly rubbed off on Me. I hope this makes you proud.

I just read the advert and it comes with another running car for spares laugh . Maybe thats where the extra 5k comes from.

It would be a very cool bus for going with mates to Le Mans and similar road trips

You need to see the pictures of the interior of the other car - which was also a chuck in when it was originally listed.

Beyond marmite.
