Tip of the cap to the winner of the DCG 992 GT3RS, he took the car, not the £300k cash alternative.
Fair play - I like to think I would have done the same but in the situation it would be really tough to turn down the £300k. Bloke must be single biggrin

Yes, was great to see a big winner finally taking the car rather than the cash. It is the whole point after all smile
Anyway, off to post my free entries for the week now biglaugh

I agree, good to see the car taken.
Though I'd wager its at Romans or similar by the end of the month.

Going to bat for competition companies who make tens of thousands pounds of profit per week is not something I expected to read this morning.

Not at all, I am sure they do make a great living out of the competitions. But if everyone here is sending postcards in constantly then many others are obviously doing it too, so there must be thousands going in every week. My point was those costs for the "free" entries are getting passed on in the ticket price to everyone who pays for their tickets, that's the only place these companies can recover their costs.

Yes I appreciate its a legal requirement, but I've spent a lot on competitions over the years and never sent a postcard in, I guess more fool me for that, so I realise now I've been in some small part funding these free entries and that seems unfair.

Not batting for the companies at all, but for those of us who pay for our tickets.

You say “getting passed on”, most people realise that any “cost” associated with the free entry route is factored in to their entire business model. A business model based, let’s not forget, on the free entry route being required top operate.

Those of you who pay for your tickets ARE ALLOWED TO USE FREE ENTRIES!

For what it’s worth I’ve never used the free entry route because I’ve never bothered to investigate it, don’t check the websites frequently enough to hit deadlines and I’m too lazy to do it.

So in answer to your other point not “everyone here is sending postcards”

Now, can we please move on.

Agreed, most people who do postals probably just send a couple a week etc its quite a hassle of it all anyway and not guaranteed that all with make it. Dont see the big issue with it to supplement paid entries, they make huge profits afterall and postals are factored in/required to allow them to run these prize competitions. For those who cant spend huge amounts its decent.

I've never sent a postcard entry, probably spent a small fortune on normal entries and won naff all.
This recent talk has spurred me on to start using the postcard route.

In for a small handful of tickets on the Mach 1 on The Giveaway Guys.

I'd be heading up on the train to drive that home without doubt.

That is quite spicy, I do like the fact the cash alternative is a bit guff to tempt you into taking the car

So they have, I've entered loads of these and not won anything.

I've got in for the Up GTI as well as need a new run around.

Anybody seen any 595 Competizione on any of the sites recently? thats what I really want.

Thanks. I wish they would bring back the daily 5p visit back. I know its pittance but I had built that into my daily routine laugh

Didn't Robbie say she'd given up after the threats? Some people had been ringing her up from adverts where she was selling prizes, and been threatening her

That is pretty low if true, as frustrating as it can be seeing the same names all the time for someone who doesn’t really care at all for the prize there’s no need for making personal threats.

if that's what's happened it needs a police investigation - that's more than just 'hurty words'
