Something simple like this V12 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016... with a mere 90k miles would be a good bet.
Incidentally, does that read like a private ad to you? Doesn't to me.Car looks nice.

You have clearly angered the barge gods, a selling of a new, fuel efficient vehicle is required to win favour back with them.
Unlucky, big brakes are a pain, especially when trying to find a quick set of temporary rims for a refurb etc.

Trouble is the 'new' (by my standards anyway) fuel efficient vehicle is the only one that I currently have at my disposal! Maybe that's the way forward? Just buy a whole bunch of cheap Merc A140s and if anything breaks just jump in one of the others, throw the broken one away whilst replacing it with yet another reserve car?
Not especially champagne or even just comfortable motoring...but at least it's motoring?

I love the colour though.
Hot hatch or hyper v12 coupe next. Must be strong...
Just look at it in its minimalist glory though.

Anyway, it has featured here before, within the last year, I think. I wonder how come it's back? I think the photos may be the same.
Fingers crossed & good luck to CdG on the impending purchase (and happy birthday) and bravo to R129 for taking on the 140 if only provisionally for now. Good effort to Derin on the BMW... I'm sure there are a few more new purchases recently I've forgotten, there just seems to be a lot of purchasing going on at the moment and long may it continue!

Whats wrong with this BMW V8 then ?! Looks clean, nice, maybe get a little bit more money off ?

Nothing evidently wrong with it, it looks very nice, we had it a few pages ago. As usual I would expect to budget for a full front suspension refresh to go with the rear that's been done, and the rest of the cooling system as a matter of course if it wasn't changed along with the radiator, but that's true of every E39 that hasn't got recent bills to that effect.http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/b...

Great little cars the 205. Commanding a big premium now though, I'd also look at the 106 gti and rallye. Great little cars too.
My plan is to buy one that has reasonable (100k) miles and needs paint and a tidy on the inside that I can do at my leisure. They have really gone up in value of late cornershop said:

The best engine, colour and body style (!), with mention of "wiring" done (do they mean the engine loom?). On gumtree though and the description of the miles doesn't match the summary (not a long way out though). Like much of London Swiss Cottege has nice bits but has/is near nasty enough bits (I used to live about 5 mins away). No mention of rust always suggests rust to me, but if the rest of it checks out it could be a reasonable buy. Air con and leather is always good. cornershop said:
That's a great spot - two things away from being my perfect w124; it's a post facelift, which I could overlook given the full spec (heated seats are the one thing I won't compromise on), and it's green. If it were any other colour, I'd be there in a shotI was just looking at this. According to the auction ad on carandclassic this 300-24 was "first registered in St. Saviour Jersey during February 1991 to, we are told a titled Lady owner by Jackson's Garage Jersey. We are further informed that the purpose of the purchase was for her to be Chauffeur driven around the island. The car is offered complete with the original drivers pack which contains the Maintenance Booklet bearing 7 service stamps up until 2003 at 20987 miles. The vendors informs us that around 2004 when the car had covered approximately 22000 miles the car was purchased by the grounds keepers father and brought to Scotland, the MOT test certificates from this time on show that the car covered very little mileage with it now showing 40300 miles."
Always a sucker for a story and some history. There's not too much else though and I can't find a proper auction listing. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C710305#
All the pictures are from a near identical angle that tell us nothing as well!

RHD, BMW 850, lpg installed, on UK plates in Pforzheim (Black Forest, in between Karlsruhe & Stuttgart)

Should be interesting for someone. Seller states that the exhaust is hanging off, but that motor and 'box are OK.

I'm very much in a Jaguar/Daimler sort of mood today. How about this for a period colour?

Happy Birthday CdG! I could imagine an enjoyable drive down to The Winchester Club for a swift half to celebrate http://www.taskerandlacy.co.uk/used-cars/jaguar-xj...
Does anyone know of good suppliers for 190e front wings?
I asked my local MB dealer yesterday and they have none in stock, but when they do they're £350 each.
Seen some aftermarket ones for 1/10 of the price but concerned about quality.
Need to put the 190 through an MOT soon. Depending on how it goes I'm looking at repairing the rear arches (small amount of corrosion) and replacing the drivers side wing.
If anyone knows of a bodywork specialist in Hampshire I would be grateful.
