Lovely but with rust under every wheel arch you'd probably end up having to respray it?

If it's genuinely surface-only then you could just airbrush small areas after rectification, and blend it in. especially with the car being a non metallic white and therefore pretty easy to match.

Interesting. I spent some time on the phone with the vendor a weekend or two back, and was bidding. Then, it was withdrawn from sale, presumably sold to some guy who turned up with cash. I wonder why it's now back on?

Have we had this S600 coupe? Possibly a marmite kit and two-tone leather, but with the recent love for them...

It was posted a few pages back and I commented on it but it did not attract much other interest.

Rare car with the AMG kit but it is an early one and as you say would look better with a different interior colour.

There was a later, lower mileage black on black 600 with the AMG up for sale with a Trader in Amersham recently for £13k ish.

Is that a Japanese import perhaps? Those tints are very similar to a lot of cars fresh off the boat.

It would have a different (square) rear plate recess if it were Japanese market, surely?

Speedo likely to be in KMs too if it's a Japanese car, and this looks like MPH as far as I can tell. Looks a decent car.

Its got 10 years of MOT history so if its a jap import, it isn't a recent one. Doesn't look like it to me anyway. MOTs reckon its done 4k miles in 10 years, so you'd be guaranteed a whole world of pain if you bought it and started using it.

Just noticed ad says 'please note this is a car that requires some work, please phone for full appraisal'.

Probably worth a call, but I'm now less enthusiastic than I was.

didn't think there was such a thing as 'surface rust' on an 88 XJS hehe

Good point. Wonder what happened to merit refurbing the alloys and changing fluids for them to stop..? Let us know what they say!

Does anyone know of good suppliers for 190e front wings?

I asked my local MB dealer yesterday and they have none in stock, but when they do they're £350 each.

Seen some aftermarket ones for 1/10 of the price but concerned about quality.

Need to put the 190 through an MOT soon. Depending on how it goes I'm looking at repairing the rear arches (small amount of corrosion) and replacing the drivers side wing.

If anyone knows of a bodywork specialist in Hampshire I would be grateful.
£250 plus VAT here: http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk/index.php?opt... (left) and here http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk/index.php?opt... (right). These prices should be good as they have just updated them. Still horrific and you really have to wonder whether Merc really is committed to parts supply for older cars. As for quality, I'd be tempted to go quality aftermarket as I am not convinced the Merc stuff is especially brilliant.

£80 for a genuine right hand wing here http://cart.euromercmercedesparts.co.uk/index.php?... but if it is the one in the picture I wouldn't want it: it has a great big dent in the top.

"please note this is a car that requires some work, please phone for full appraisal" sounds utterly frightening on an S600!

First time posting a barge... What do you reckon would be a decent price for this big slow Volvo?

Looks lovely, would be nice if it were an auto. Rust doesn't look great either, though could be a lot worse given where its located.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volvo-240-GL-2-0-Manual-...

Went for £820 in the end, did you buy it?

Something for the E38 afficionados....

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

Does an interior get any better than that?
When I first saw this it was £8995. When I posted it 7-10 days ago it was within thread budget. Now, its not. There is difficulty in pricing, and there's a seller who is a tool.
Different cars.
Same photos.
Same car, was £4995 Sunday 7th, page 358 (just before the retrorides weird Hyundai thing turned up). I have also posted an E66 750Li this week, also at £6k.

When I first saw the '38"I thought with a little calming the V12 on LPG could be great, but his pricing has been all over the shop...

Aaaaaaand it's back down to £4999... Can't help but think Autotrader is not the best platform for this car (or seller!)
Sorry, you were right, same car. I nearly bought this car two years ago when my B12 hunt was turning very cold; the enthusiast who was selling it then was only selling as he was returning to Germany. I didn't view it but the high res pics and many forum posts convinced me of its quality. The lpg system is very clever in that it copies the BMW management engine system by operating as two straight six systems working together. The rest of the cars spec, even for a 750iL is pretty high, and in very nice colours imho.
