Apart from repeatedly posting that the 405 driver should be banned, railing against other thread contributors for not criticising him enough, complaining that your are ashamed to be associated with such a 'knuckle dragging Neanderthals' by virtue of the fact you also drive a car (I presume). That is just the last few pages. You are both witless and the most frequent contributor to this thread, the sort which makes people long for an ignore button.
I'm not sure it's that so much, it's more that you know how some people have rose tinted specs, I think heebeegeetee has lemon tinted specs which give off a certain bitterness

So no arguing as such then, just a bit of ranting? laugh

I do go on too much, I concede. I do feel the need to respond when I read absolute bks, and for some reason it's these thrice-weekly anti cyclist threads that seem to have the most absolute demented bks from people who've been trusted with a driving licence.

I mean, this thread had pages about whether Pratman did or did not pass too close, and on one of the other of this week's cyclist threads there's pages and pages (all repetitver from many other previous threads) from people who simply can't work out fro themselves how to safely pass a cyclist.

I mean, what the fking hell gives? rolleyes

Of course I was exaggerating your negative qualities for effect and you make some sense some of the time. I don't normally read the cycling threads because I'm not that interested in them, so can't comment on their reasonableness or otherwise.

I've noticed with heebee's posts that whenever he starts losing the argument he comes out with 'not bothered' or 'don't care'. Lol
a) what argument?
b) how or what an I 'losing'?
c) check all the posts if you like, I've barely, if at all, mentioned either the driving or the cycling.

Most of my comments is simply correcting people on the rules of the road and correcting people who making stuff up. tongue out
Except you're not correcting people. I never said cyclists are legally obliged to abide by the speed limit, but you pretended I did so you could try to argue me down over it. I simply said they should see it as a piece of information to help them assess the road ahead. Even Uphillfreewheeler says to the driver in the downhill speeding video that the roads meet at awkward angles, so it's no use insisting it's a straight, well sighted junction when it clearly isn't.

We started off commenting on an individual cyclist and his roadcraft, not generally slating all cyclists.

There are hundreds of videos on YouTube from cyclists but only about a dozen cyclists posting all of them between them. Uphillfreewheeler has posted a couple of hundred in two years and clearly has to help make things happen that are worthy of being posted so he can outdo the competition. I never really thought anything of cyclists before the YouTube videos came about, I certainly never thought of them as different people to everyone else and a breed in their own right or anyone to hate. I just thought that sometimes people ride bicycles and I'd never encountered anyone who labelled himself as a cyclist.

Showing careless driving from the point of view of the cyclist made sense to me at first but creating the videos seems to have become increasingly about provocation and confrontation. The cyclist versus motorist conflict, to me, seems to have come about and got worse because of the videos. Most cyclists go about their business quietly and don't bother anyone. Only the confrontational ones cross your radar. They're being tarred by many people with the same brush as the cyclists who go out wanting fights and they're being given fights they themselves don't want.

Well...I agree with you sir. technology is to blame.

- Sadly, both a pair of pillocks in my opinion. That aside, I think sadly that Technology is to blame here. GoPro/sport-cams etc....

...I get the feeling that most cyclists nowadays where helmet cams and the like, not to capture the golden age of architecture or delights of urban landscape development, but to simply catch out the motorist that cuts them up so they have evidence. I accept that this can be useful if you are unfortunately caught up in an incident but I think, as the cyclist in that video has ably demonstrated with fore and aft cameras, that the reason he has them is to prove that motorists are scum and that he was/is hard done by.
42 pages now? Impressive. And popcorn needs topping up.

The guy on the bike doesn't do cyclists any favours. I despise theses idiots that follow cars to give them grief. The driver was a bit highly strung but its not wise to poke wasps nests if you dont want stung.
This. As a car driver, motorcyclist and cyclist, I'm sick of these self appointed important people sticking a camera on their head and riding around like little hitlers. fk all wrong with that overtake, I'd far rather be passed like that than have a car stuck up my arse all the way along the road. I was on my way to the Medway Cruise a few months back and had an earful from a cocky cyclist. If I wasn't in the Z06, I'd have stopped to give him a piece of my mind too. I did go down there at the same time on my bike for the next couple of days but no sign of him. Perhaps another motorist had already explained his lack of hand signas, piss poor positioning and his excess of gob to him.

Holy thread resurrection. I know I might get some flack for this but I am a motorcyclist as well who owns an r6 with a carbon micron pipe. I do not go looking for trouble but on one occasion I had a three person group of cyclists hog the road and shout obscenities at me with finger gestures for literally no reason when I passed them going at a moderate speed. So I turned up the road and came up from behind them a few minutes later put my clutch in and right when I got next to them just wailed on the throttle! the Micron screamed so loud I swear they almost went off the road. I was cracking up in my helmet.

By the way, your comment about being a little Hitler cracked me up, its so true. It's almost like that South Park episode where everybody is so smug because they drive hybrid cars and electric vehicles, they love the smell of their own farts the smug bds. I bet people like that, little Hitlers, bet that they can run the world and be the judge of everything to perfection. Haha
