That should be an E46? Mine is on 132k and another PHer has one on over 150k. Both 6 pots though.

Watch for suspension clonks etc, and check for rust. The front wings will probably be bubbling a bit but I wouldn't be too fussed about that.

Mine has been great, had it almost 3 years and it has given minimum trouble. If it's good then I would probably take a punt on it. Let us know how you get on smile

Looks nice! Clear indicator lenses which is a shame... wink

These are MV2 alloys, check the tyres are in good nick as they aren't cheap to replace!

Front and rear arches that we can see in the photo look very clean. Alloys are a bit kerbed so check the suspension carefully.

That is staggeringly impressive.
Agreed! That interior is in seriously good condition, goes to show how capable modern cars can be if looked after. I wonder who would buy that though? Or do we think it will end up being exported / clocked and sold with a "lost" service history?

When they get 10 years old with 200k miles on I guess?
True, but it really doesn't look like a £3k car to me (or probably most people for that matter!). Bargain smile

Does anyone actually know anyone that has bought an ex taxi like that?

I wouldn't have a problem buying an ex company / lease / privately owned car with big miles but I would be hesitant to buy an ex taxi.

Anyone fancy an LS400 with 333k on it and a slightly questionable advert?

Car looks nice though, besides the red mats!

yikes

That is superb! Like the Maybach article as well, although given the choice the BMW 760 looks like a better option.

I'm not sure the centre caps would have faded like that, huge mileage or not.
What are you thinking? Non original alloys?

Surely if they clocked it they would put it back to 80k or so rather than over 200k.

I have seen a few on high mileage in taxis etc, but personally I wouldn't touch a TDCI and would buy a petrol one instead. Not worth the risk IMO.

Ok, thanks. Are the TDCI's particularly troublesome, or are the potential issues the usual modern diesel ones (dmf, doc etc)?

Cheers.
I did quite a bit of research into them a while back (I bought a 1.8) and the general consensus was that they can suffer from pretty much every common diesel issue and they can be particularly troublesome.

There will obviously be some out there that are fine, but the pros seemed to outweigh the cons especially when you consider how cheap and reliable the petrol ones are. They are great cars, I really liked my one.

20-30k pa in recent years. so between £6k and £9k a year in fuel plus the servicing costs. More money than sense.
Wow yikes

Would be very interesting to have a look through the pile of receipts and see what has been done.

Shame the photos are so poor!

Serviced on average once every 28k... That can't be good?!

Will be interested to see what it looks like.

2011 520d with 190k on the clock - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2015...

I've been thinking recently is the F10 the most popular car for doing big miles in currently? For a model that's only been out for a few years there are a massive number for sale with 100k upwards!
That looks like the ideal reasonable car to rack up big miles in, seems to wear them very well too. I actually quite like the interior.

I wonder if any long term reliability issues will pop up with the F10, can't say I have heard of anything bad about them?

Wonder how long that one will be for sale for.
