Bizarrely, my free Bimmer (the one that was free) comes with a free cassette deck. In 2002, that was a rip off even at half the price, as no fkah had cassettes to put in it, and eBay had not really happened yet. The car is so badly equipped that it has a built in body bag in the boot. This has never been used, probably because it is too narrow for even the skankiest of dead Crack Hos or the most flexible of East European gymnasts.

Oh, it's a ski bag. I see.

The cassette deck was free in 2002. I had one in an M3. Needless to say it was never used.

The ski bag is only big enough for one pair of skis and makes the rest of the boot difficult to use. Not the most practical option.

Sat in a new A4 yesterday - the cup holders are LED illuminated.
Ooh liquids and electricity. Sounds like fun!
In the now previous previous A4, not only did the cup holders not work, they were also above and in front of the nav/stereo unit. Genius.

My 2014 F11 520d has only one cup holder! It's shocking and a right pain in the arse.

BV, I frankly don't care for you question about best cupholders. The better question would have been "Worst cupholders" and the those in an E60 BMW 5 series would get my vote.

Romanian, Czech, I'm not fussy as long as they're leggy, barely legal, can't speak English, are impressed with my slighty crap wheels and can hold a gin and tonic between their legs whilst I drive to the nearest Travelodge whilst pretending to be the Duke of Rutland.

Not E39 ones, apart from them breaking constantly they can not hold a large drink at all, seriously my passenger seat is horrific, the amount of drink I've spilled on it, coffee, coke, fanta, good job it is cloth otherwise passengers would be stuck there forever

My first attempt at modifying* a cup holder for my mk1 MR2 was a partial failure, threatening to collapse, so I am going to try and fabricate one from scratch this weekend.

A cupholder is required to transport my morning coffee the mile from the shop to work. Passengers can carry their own drinks.

  • There is nowhere to mount it that is remotely vertical.

I have just given away a fairly crap E46 316i that formerly belonged to my brother. I am not sure if it even has cupholders, but someone has been giving the cloth seats a drink. The interior is dire - pale blue seats that seem to have been pissed on by every drunk in the north of England. I doubt that any self respecting teenage gymnast or even the skankiest of hooker would be seen dead in the thing.

Can you still get the ones that hang over your door card and slot down by the window?

E46 are ok, if they're specced then they're in the centre console, and unlike E39's they don't fire your drink into your seats/crotch

Nothing that fits, but I give you the mk1 folding cupholder :

The flash makes it look shinier that it actually is.

It still needs a base added if I want to use it for cans, but my test takeaway coffee cup fits perfectly.

Merc SUV (feel the hate) has cup holders that you can heat to keep your drink warm or cool to keep it cold, plus the light up to let you know what they are doing...
