No probs. Made the call, £150 a ton, 40 for the cats, 20 for the wheels, that's getting on for 360 right there. A sad end, but needs must!

not another one biting the dust!

You could probably get a 2nd hand tank for less than £100, then £100 for fitting i'd have thought.

Oh, the cats are worth more than £100 if you take them to a recycling place yourself.....

If you find me someone who'll remove my exhausts, drop the shaft, move al the other gubbins, remove the tank and replace the lot for 100 quid then please do feel free!

E38 18" alloys, eh? I thought the offsets were all wrong but they look OK on it. Of course, 18" alloys were available in E39 fitments too.

ETA: and I agree with Paddy N Murphy so I'd never buy that one anyway. But the manuals do have their own following.

E38 style 32 alloys machined to fit and they look awesome. 235/40/18 fronts and 265/35/18 rears
Why have you quoted me and the ad - my post says the same thing as the ad.

Yeah it's a bummer fo' sho' but I guess if you sail close to the barge-y wind you have to be prepared to cut your losses when it doesn't blow in your direction. I've 'invested' about 40 quid into Pratley Putty along the seam and above and around where it appears to be coming from as far as my fingers will fit around the tank - but it's still oozing. Any more effort would be tank removal which is where it starts getting money thrown at it - and them's against the barge roolz.

When you consider mine has a few little niggles which I was prepared to live with, it doesn't actually bear substantial investment to fix because really I'd then be obliged to fix the rest.

Besides, I'm a glutton and just agreed a deal on the one linked above at under 900 tongue out

All the pixels work, the tank/underside is far cleaner than mine, bodywork is far better, immaculate style 32s, zero shimmy, digital climate (mine had the manual dials), 25k less miles, 12 months ticket, 6 months tax in the deal, bonzer.

Only thing is it'll need tyres in the next few months which ain't cheap but them's running costs... right? wink

Advert seems to have been written by Barbara Cartland. 35mpg certainly is a work of fiction. Looks nice, though.

That 280 is indeed mint. I actually prefer it with trims.

This is cheap for the 124 Cab

The 728i (link now removed from AT). Weighed my 7 in for 320 - that felt weird, alas the tank meant it was uneconomical to repair. The new one is in nicer all round condition than the scrapped one - I inspected the tank closely and there's no signs of corrosion which is all good. The whole underside is much better actually.

Here's hoping this one lasts! I'll take some pics tomorrow smile

Anyone willing to take a gamble on this stunner? An XJR for £3750? What could possibly go wrong?
