Fair point - as said already it should have been a blog. But a) we don't have any pretensions toward BBC-esque impartiality b) hindsight is a wonderful thing and c)the whole editorial team felt the car to be a bit, er, wrong.
Having said that it is definitely a case of each to their own, so I don't in all seriousness condemn this chap for what he's done to his car - my tongue is firmly lodged in my cheek when I say 'ruined'. At the end of the day it's has car and his money - so his choice.
PH news: take our stories with a pinch of salt
lol well put :-) didn't mean to come across as being rude but the car is an advert for the mans business and as such i think its well done and actually restrained compared to some cars used for similar roles. There are parts of it i really don't like but in a world where everyone is struggling for work I think tearing his work apart is not helping lol, i seem too remember a story that was heavily promoted and paid for by pistonheads, with a man who embezzled money and used it to run race teams. So i wouldn't have been impressed if others used that as a reason to ridicule PH :-DHaving said that it is definitely a case of each to their own, so I don't in all seriousness condemn this chap for what he's done to his car - my tongue is firmly lodged in my cheek when I say 'ruined'. So because it's got air ride and non standard wheels, it's ruined?
If it had been lowered on coilovers with a static drop, would that be acceptable?
Do the masses of PH really think that because it's had air ride installed it couldn't be returned back to standard?
For me personally, I think it looks pretty good, apart from the RS badge - But this is PH, where slagging off anything that's not to the taste of the masses matters

Take one 964, add fake RS parts, spend a fortune on wheels and suspension to make it handle like a dog, park it in a shabby warehouse for the 'urban' feel, get bird who went to the Heather Mills school of runway modelling to do the Max Power bit
Not a great recipe in my book
Good job you in Belfast boys, too far to come and give you a slap

Likewise we don't mean to come across as rude in our piece (perhaps we underestimate how seriously people take the things we say...)

Modified for static aesthetics at the expense of performance and usability.
False badging to attach itself to an iconic model that is completely opposed in ethos to this car.
That is my opinion. Am I not to express this opinion on a motoring forum of which I am a member?

LMAO PH is the best d*mn car website bar none and we are all highly opinionated readers. I read your stuff every day and check the site at least 6 times a day (Good thing my computer faces the wall at work :-).) keep up the good work :-)Likewise we don't mean to come across as rude in our piece (perhaps we underestimate how seriously people take the things we say...)
Well Porsche have always been a marmite car, people either love or hate them and its the same with this "ruined in my opinion" example.
I am a Porsche fan and Porsches have alwys been cars to modify across all the range, wheels, roll cages, RS replicas, RSR replicas, Turbo bodies etc so its nothing new, indeed an unmolested Porsche is hard to find these days.
On this 964 the bodywork looks amazing and very tidy, its the suspnsion set up and wheels that let this down for me and lose what this car is all about.

Yeah, bang on because Ali G is from STAINES!
fail
"The character of Ali G is a stereotype of a white suburban male from Staines who imitates African-American rap culture as well as urban British and Jamaican culture, particularly through hip hop, reggae, and Grime music. Ali G was part of a group called Berkshire Massive, and he ran and grew up in an area of Slough called Langley (both actual locations in the UK). He also lived part of his life in Staines."fail

They are adjustable hydraulics on his car with in car springs so when he wants performance he can raise the car and adjust rebound, so it can cruise or be used on track, and all from the flick of a switch, I would also like to add think of all the cars that have to have nose adjustment for car parks so its the same thingModified for static aesthetics at the expense of performance and usability.

Just for your info: Langely is a village outside of slough 'he' grew up in langely not slough
Thanks for the effort though, i guess you should get your head back in the books and study
students eh
How dare you!
For what it's worth, I really like the car in the video.
It appears to have been lightly modded and tastefully done.
Difficult to tell from a video, but I suspect the workmanship is very good as well.
I'm a big fan of both standard and modded air-coolers as my own Porker demonstrates:
