these guys are on the same estate in Meltham, might be worth giving them a ring regarding more parking spaces and displaying a few cars. could someone forward this to the Subaru forum as I am not a member.

My god, that is truly gut wrenching.

Fair play to the OP of the original post for trying to do something memorable under these circumstances!

Sadly for me Im in another country, working and dont really have a super car as such - But would have gladly given up a few hours travel to try and make it everything this chap and his son are hoping for...

Heres hoping it is a complete success!

I am staggered at the response to this. clap

This needs some serious organisation and the organsisers probably need to be looking at something like Harewood house, Lotherton Hall, etc. Anywhere with massive open space.

The location to this has changed today by the way, any PH'er's in the Midlands who are going, or from anywhere else, fancy taking the interesting route up there? Looking at Google maps today and the quickest route from Stoke to the meet is all B-roads up past Buxton and going to Huddersfield.
There are some very nice roads near Buxton!

Someone needs to go there in some real exotica for the lad. Fezza's and Lambo's owners please go and give this lad a day to remember.

As a parent this is just too heartbreaking to even contemplate.

Thoughts go out to his parents and family!

Absolutely tragic news, but the support from the car community looks like it's been incredible so far.

Any idea how many cars are expected so far?

The Facebook event alone has a fair few: https://www.facebook.com/events/264371197015506/

By the sounds of it, there are going to be representatives from a lot of the car clubs out there as well.

I'm going to try and head up there in the re-built Impreza, once I have it back this weekend. Need to MOT and tax it, which on a rally car isn't always straight forward, so hears hoping.

If the event stays in Meltham you can go straight from Holmfirth over the hill to Meltham which drops straight down to this industrial estate.

Its such a sad story. Im glad the support has been so great. Unfortunately I am at a show at Castle Combe. However thinking of driving up in the afternoon for such a special event.

Hopefully the kid enjoys it and my thoughts go out the family.

My thoughts to Zippy, his lad, their family and friends
This is really going to be quite something and the whole idea and the way it has been embraced shows a great deal about the human spirit
I shall be at work that weekend - i have passed details on to the MX5 Life forum
I shall be thinking of all concerned on the day
