It is all a bit... Barratt estate and polyester suit isn't it
and a Sierra XR is ??Oh forgot: I drove a A7 3.0 245ps Diesel recently and thought in my Opinion this car was the most together all round car I have ever driven...this RS& must be immense.

The A7 is an odd thing - there are angles where it looks amazing and angles where it looks spectacularly st.
This has that going on too - still, there are so many suckers who equate Audi with their upper-middle-class aspirations that I'm sure it will sell
and depreciate like a pallet of bricks...

Love this from the front, however I just cannot stand the back end, its a bloody mess just like the BMW sportback thing.
Why could hey not come up with a decent sensible sloping rear like Merecedes have done.
I actually like the back. It's edgy and sharp, not like the swoopy crap from MB. The RS7's rump in white also has a whiff of that Quattro concept that was shelved last year. Why could hey not come up with a decent sensible sloping rear like Merecedes have done.

Yes. That's it. People who can afford a £77k car all live in identikit houses and wear suits from Burtons
Hey now, come on. Burton is a good British brand with a great heritage. Yes they lost their way in the 90's and early noughties, but they're trying hard now dammit. Not quite as ugly as the last few from this marque, but far from handsome.
However I can't believe the bling the up market German manufacturers are indulging in today. Those dreadful strings of LEDs around or under the headlights. What utter crap.
That is the sort of garbage our young hoons use to tart up their old Fords & Holdens. It looks cheap, & bloody stupid on these old bangers, & even worse on new cars.
If this is the best their designers can come up with, it is time to avoid cars designed by them.

Not just me thinking this then?
Honestly - sorry to hate on Audi again but really..

I didn't think I would ever be uninterested in a near 600bhp car

Not evn sure I like the merc version. These sportback CLS things are a complete train wreck from the c pillar backwards. Still stuck with the idea that the typical 3 box shape is the best, maybe I'm just not moving with the times? Why could hey not come up with a decent sensible sloping rear like Merecedes have done.
I remember in previous years being quite excited when a new M, RS or AMG car was released, but now they just don't do anything for me. I'm not sure if it is the realisation that when such a car is released I am at least ten years away from being able to afford to buy it or if so many of these models have been pumped out they are no longer special. Having said all that, I love the 1M and C63 (I'm aware this contradicts what I've just said about them no longer exciting me).

Same here.... (Unnecessarily?) Monstrous power in a 'LOOK AT ME, I'M AGGRESSIVE & FAST EVEN STANDING STILL!' car seems a bit passé these days. I don't hate Audi, but I have no urge to own one of their cars. I prefer discretion to "Flash".
It's not only that which disappoints me. It's the inevitability of their products. I just hate the fact that they make every single derivation of every single model they make.. right from a boggo 2.0 FSI (or whatever they would put as the entry level in a boat like this) all the way up to the flagship model. Because it's an RS it gets a twin turbo V8. There's no surprise. No curveballs. It's another RS car with a twin turbo V8 and hilarious pricetag. It's boring.
Well I have never liked the rear of the A7, it is to long and has the look of a bad body kit, it is all a bit Milf for my liking. In the flesh they seem 20cm to long and then they tacked on some mid 90's tail lights.
The sad thing is that Audi seem to be locked into a look of the Audi A4 that they have photoshopped into all of their models. Sadly this process of homogienising all of the models may be working against them.

My thoughts exactly. The only reason this exists is because, somewhere in a suburban home, someone is peeking out of his window, waiting to one-up the neighbour with his brand new A7 S-line.
