Personally I think anybody purposely going out to drive in the snow is nuts. I absolutely hate driving in it. Had to drive a X Type through South London yesterday. Not much snow compared to some of the country and AWD, should be fine right? No.
Anything that wasn't a main road was lethal even at super slow speeds. I just don't find it enjoyable in the slightest. Going Sideways is great fun, but only when you're actually in control.
Oh well, you poor thing! Anything that wasn't a main road was lethal even at super slow speeds. I just don't find it enjoyable in the slightest. Going Sideways is great fun, but only when you're actually in control.

Surprising. Which tyres are you running on the X Type?Anything that wasn't a main road was lethal even at super slow speeds. I just don't find it enjoyable in the slightest. Going Sideways is great fun, but only when you're actually in control.

I would have posted a pic of my barge after having some fun in a quiet car park but the old bill came down and gave me a bking. I didn't realise a few handbrake turns were enough to get me a talking to by West Yorkshires finest.
Wow, what did you do?! Knock down a few lamp posts?BadBanshee said:

Sweet fa. Quiet car park, had done a few handbrake turns in the snow. Meat van goes past and next thing I know the lights are on and they are pulling into the car park. 3 officers stepped out and proceeded to tell me how I was commiting an offence just by being in the car park. The car park is for a council owned building which is used as an adult learning centre amongst other things. No signs saying private car park or no entry etc. giblet said:

Unlucky. Same time tomorrow? Was chatting to my dad about this today - when he was a lad he spent half a day in an empty car park hoofing his Triumph Herald around in the snow finding out how it handled. Try that now and you'll have the BiB giving you a hard time within 10 minutes. Nobody reports a car alarm going off or a car being stolen, but do a handbrake turn in a deserted snowy car park and everybody's ringing 999

You were trying to get to sainsburys really and it wouldn't go straight would it .
I wonder who pays the bill to keep the comet sign lit up.
Funnily enough I was wondering who would pay for the lit signage, maybe the landlords don't want half the complex in the dark?I wonder who pays the bill to keep the comet sign lit up.
I'll ignore your first comment
Spent a few hours changing the pads on the 156 in the snow today. Was the most fun bedding in process i've ever had.
It really is a shame that for some reason I feel like I'm going to get a talking to from the local plod for turning up at a completely abandoned car park and just having some harmless fun

In 2009 I had a play in my work car park in a 1999 323Ci Coupe which has ASC late at night. I had so much fun and so much adrenaline when I lay down in bed. I was silly to do the same again very early in the morning in work car park as I had so much fun the night b4. Really helps to improve ur confidence and car control skills. Anyway needless to say I ended up getting reported by some people a big bking but kept my job. Where I live in West London most car parks have lots of lamp oats including the work one. I even spun a couple of times in work car park.
Anyway had a 200 mile round trip on Friday including the M40 on summer tyres. Glad I am in one piece and the car remains without a scratch :-)
I hav much improving my driving to do though. Changing lanes on M40 to outside across all that slush on summer tyres made me nervous as can go sideways even with 170bhp easy and u can feel the steering go light or maybe I just need more practise as I have not hooned properly in the snow since 2009 :-)
