Has anyone tried putting a Honda S2000 engine/gearbox in a Caterham? That would certainly take care of any "doesn't rev like a K-Series" doubts.
I've seen them fitted to other seven kits, but don't know if anyone has tried putting one in a caterham. There a bit on the heavy side unfortunately - K series is about 100kgs with ancillaries, f20c is a good 50kgs heavier.MrTappets said:

There used to be a fellow in British Columbia who let me drive his S2000 powered one, complete with gearbox from same. Yes, "it goes." He appeared at the All British Field Meet at Portland International Raceway here in Oregon some years back. There are others from B.C. who build even more bonkers ones with Suzuki Hayabusa bike engines...! Great video Chris and nice to see two practical cars back to back.
I've had my 3 wheeler 14 months now, and have just come back from a trip to Norway where 3 of us shared the driving in one along with a few other Morgan we covered, just over 5000 miles in a fortnight and for me the 3 wheeler was e star. The car (still not sure that's the correct term) is addictive and the more you drive it the more you want to push it on and explore the limits. Loves the twisty stuff and is a full on adrenaline rush when you get it right and appreciate what 3 wheels can deliver.
I've owned classic cars and also own an aero 8 and this sits somewhere in between the feel and look of a classic but all the fun of the aero at half the speed. Twice the fun of the aero as you approach triple digit speeds but boy do you need to concentrate on what's happening.
The reaction to the 3 wheeler is always positive but trying to explain that it's a new car when you're filling up can be time consuming. It's back to basics motoring with no electronic gizmos to get you out of the s£*t€ when you get it wrong but after driving a euro box all day it makes me realise why I love motoring.

I have a very fond memory of several passenger laps round the Hethel test track being terrified by PH'r JeremyC in his R?00 Caterham - was utterly blown away by how it embarrased everything as it flew round the track.....
I put it down to the driver
It's an R400, or more correctly (before the Beards correct me) a SuperlightR.I put it down to the driver
You definitely need to own one.
I know it's a total cliche to say "best Chris Harris vid yet", but this one really tops the lot. Everything I enjoy about driving, right there, encapsulated in a video. A glorious, 1080p video. Watch on a 50" 1080p tv for extra cream-factor.
Out of those two cars, I'd take the Caterham if I was buying with my own money, but I'd take your arm off to have a go in that Morgan.

Genuinely not trolling here, but am I the only person who doesn't particularly enjoy Caterhams?
No. This guy moans about being cold and having his hair messed up every time he goes near one......but then i guess he's probably spent his career explaining in the pub that he only drives cars with a roof because he honestly prefers it.
What's your excuse?
Superb vid that absolutely cuts to the chase - mega bucks super saloons, super cars etc are lovely things but really are a waste if bought as weekend toys . If you want thrills go basic. What about a day sampling hillclimb machinery? Lots of Caterham owners trying a bit of competion at the weekends. If you love pure driving thrills then ten tenths down a driveway in a single seater is a great fix.
