I've previously owned a MK5 Edition 30, MK5 R32, S2000 and Civic Type R FN2.

My favourite? The FN2 without a doubt. Whilst the R32 had a fantastic noise, it felt heavy and was incredibly thirsty. The Edition 30, whilst undoubtedly a great all rounder, never felt in any way exciting. The S2000 is incredible, but not very practical.

I found the FN2 interior a much nicer place to be than the Golf. Probably because with the GT Pack, you get a lot of kit as standard. Over 3 years it was absolutely bulletproof. Only thing I could complain about was the slightly harsh ride, but I had the 19" Rage alloys so was probably my own fault. It was incredibly practical as well.

If you have any more in depth questions feel free to ask.
Slightly off topic, but if you no longer own your FN2, why did you sell it? Is what you've got better? Would you have your old car back, given the choice?

(Currently trying to convince Blearyeyedgirl that we don't *need* rear doors... think I might be on to a loser!) wink

Another vote for trying an FN2 here. Had mine 3 weeks and LOVE it. Tried a MKV GTI, a Mini Cooper JCW and a few others and Civic just made me giggle and that sealed the deal.

would a TDI 170 GT be anything like a gti to mess about in?
