Amazing noise.

Lovely.

But like any rate top end car parts are OEM only - possibly on back order, so high part price and also they were designed with looks over ease of servicing so what may appear in theory to be a quick thing to fix or replace is actually a huge job. Worry is previous owners might not have properly fixed issues/made good and you'd not know hen it fails and a few fail together it's a massive cost.

If wager nothing is cheap on this car to buy or fix hence their low market price maybe.

This x eleventy billion.

My mechanic friend has worked on these and he says they're a complete nightmare to work on and the running costs make Ferrari ownership look a reasonable proposition. Also anyone considering these should do a search for crank end float issues then walk away.

The thing is they look and sound SO good.

Could you risk running one for 6months.... Tempting and offload before it goes pop.

Look at 3200s, then decide even though 4200s don't look quite as nice, they acutally work most of the time and buy one of those instead.

Worth a phone call if you're serious I suppose. You would think that "Excellent condition" means it includes the clock!

Can you lot stop posting old Maserati's please.

I am having an internal conversation which starts with:

"It's only £10k and I'll have a future classic,"

Then a visit to YouTube to confirm how damn good they sound.

Followed by:

"How bad could it be?"

Then the ultimate justification:

"I'll keep the miles low, use at weekends and make sure i do a thorough once over before purchasing, I'll do my homework,"

Reality: There's a good chance a spot of traffic on the way home from the vendor, on a muggy summer evening and the oil and water temperature heading slowly but surely to the right...and 13mpg...

But that happens to other people, right?
