I have absolutely no interest in Porsches although I used to have a 964C2 back in the day. This is stunning though. My fantasy garage has one of these and an Eagle Speedster.
You are not alone! An early 911 weighing about a ton with about 220-240 bhp is pretty much the perfect sportscar for the road: narrow, small footprint, light, agile and with enough power to make significant progress on twisty, fun roads but not so fast that you are having to worry all the time about how fast you are going. Having less power also means you can get away with softer suspension and smaller tyres - again both ideal for having fun on the road.
This Singer/Williams 964 looks lovely and probably goes great on track. However, so much power, massive tyres and a fat arse probably don't add up to the best road package.
I would have it in addition to an early 911 (if money were no object), rather than in place of one.

Definitely a work of art, but as a couple of others have said, I'll take mine in a slightly more practical build:-
- Rear seats
- less aggressive buckets
- those funny things called 'door cards'.
i.e. add perhaps 100kg back in but make it every-day usable. You'd want to hear that engine every day of the week, not save it solely for the track (where the extra 100kg may be noticed but I'd wager not enough to offset the greater enjoyment from using it more).

For those worried about the cost, at least you will have to pay import duties on this new model as it is going to be constructed by Williams in the UK
I wonder if you can now order a normal Singer built in the U.K. - that would probably be quite a demand driver for Europe (well until Brexit is done anyway)MDL111 said:

"Regular" cars will always be produced in California. Numbers are so small that it doesn't make sense to have another production line in Europe...it'll make things easier for sure!98elise said:

That's what I was thinking. 'Normal' Singers imported to the UK were £500K+ given the tax.
Most of the apparent extra cost to UK buyers compared to US buyers is due to the piss-weak exchange rate.

Fabulous concept and the engine sounds incredible going by the youtube vid.
Those wheels are filth, but, and I never thought I'd ever find myself saying this, there is way too much carbon on that.
Strip off the gauche exterior carbon and de-Khan the interior - it's all a bit Gemballa at the moment. Keep it simple, minimal, super wide, sub 1000kg, air cooled and 500bhp. Having said that, I would spec the carbon cage!

There is no doubt that the level of craftsmanship is beyond reproach but... I can't help but think that they have overegged the pudding with this.
When the whole ethos is a reimagining of the earlier style with a little more cherry on top, this seems to have a full pineapple on top.
500hp at 9k rpm is too much for such an era's style?
Overt carbon fibre as a decoration?
Those seats???
Those door cards???
The centre console???
Centre lock wheels in the fuch size, did that ever happen in the past.
They say they key to a good artist is that they no when to stop applying paint to the canvas.
