. Problem is, I'd go for the base 911 if that's the case - particularly when servicing is taken into consideration (I'm guessing its going to be frequent, expensive hard to get and painful).
I think Porsche labour charges may be higher than Nissan's.

I put my deposit down a few months ago with Middlehurst.

Best guesses from him are:

- 3.8V6 TT with about 480bhp
- Circa £55k UK price (bet that goes up!)
- September 2008 UK launch

If it is wet-sumped and 1750kg, I will not be keeping mine long; I'll stick with my 1400kg 600bhp Z06!
(Although it would really be more of a replacement for my 456GT because of its rear seats...)

My rant is here: http://www.auto-journals.com/blog/
snap, mine went down with middlehurst in march, although its going to be a tough decision to get rid of the csl confused

It looks fat but hopefully looks are deceiving. If it tips the scales at much over 1500 kg then that is going to be a problem no matter how much hp it has.
I expect it will be similar to other coupes M3 etc. Around 1700kg
I reckon less.

From Autocar's website:
4WD - tick
DSG - tick
473bhp and 433lbft
0-62mph - 3.5s

For the Porsche 997 Turbo:
4WD - tick
DSG - no, manual
480bhp and 457lbft
1585kg DIN
0-62mph - 3.9s

So filling in the blanks. The Porsche has a rearwards weight bias which helps on take off. It also has a touch more powre and torque, but the numbers are as close enough as makes no difference. The DSG with the Nissan will lop 0.2 to 0.3s off the 0-60 sprint. The auto version of the Porker manages 3.7s due to preloading the transmission.

I would say the GTR will be < 1600kg DIN.

Autocar stated last week that it will weigh approx 1750Kg. Let's hope they're way off the mark otherwise it's going to be a bit portly..

This is going to be great, i gave up on the Skyline ages ago because some earlier shots looked just like a bodykitted 350z but it looks rather good and the performance speaks for itself.

Shame on the road in the UK including taxes its going to be nearer a million billion pounds. At least its RHD though which spoiles the corvette for a lot of people.

Also PS3 owners, sign up to a japanese account with a fake address off the net and download the GT5 demo that'll be going up on Saturday. When the Tokyo car show starts, Sony will be offering downloads of all the new cars to test for free.

Including the Skyline for us to perv in all its 3D glory.

If it comes in at that weight then forget doing any serious track stuff in it. That is a joke.

Dunno if this has been said already cos i couldn't be arsed to read all the posts but it looks like a skyline has been mating with a 350z and they have given birth to something that was never meant to be!vomit

The interior is dull as usual for Nissan.
No point in having rear seats unless your friends are amputees.

I know for a fact that a "Certain" well known, three letter tuning company in japan have had the new GTR for about six months and already have a range of tuning products ready to rock and roll. All the main tuning companys have been given lots of info to base products on.

I can't wait to rip one apart and see what makes it tick.
