Another ridiculous thread resurrection - quick question - Anyone fancy a swap of one of the Aluminium ones for one of the new Steel 3.0 tonne ones? I got one for christmas and it's a bit big and heavy for what I need it for, despite its utter awesomeness.
Admit it: you can't pick it up, can you? ;-)

I can, just, while it's in the box. Not really tried out of the box. I live in a 4th floor flat though and I think it's going to be a pain in the arse to use. Also the heaviest car I've ever owned weighed 1250kg, so it's bit much for what I need it for.

I have a very similar one to this, Only problem i have is that if i raise the car from the side it tries to pull the car towards you as the seat of the jack moves towards you as it gets higher.

As my car is very low (marcos) i cant get the jack in from the front or rear which would be better as the car wheels move to compensative for the jack moving, the jack wheels i suppose would move to compensate on a very flat surface but not on a concrete floor.

Never get under the car without axle stands, and for added safety i always have my mobile under the car with me if working alone,
