Truth be told, the wheels are easily changed for Carrera Sport 18" wheels which look great on the 928, offer a great choice of tyres and most importantly are the correct offset.

For the money, it's great vfm. Being a non-sunroof car with sports seats is a massive bonus. The rebuild suspension means it will drive like a new car...
Is the clutch pedal in the usual place? There's a massive gap between clutch and brake pedals on that car!

Yep, that's how they are. Brakes/floor hinged gas are perfect for heel-toe. The clutch pedal may be in another county... The only old Porsche which has a great driving position regardless of it being RHD or LHD....

I drove a ‘78 928 this week.

Half the fuses out.
Paint bubbling on the doors.
Rust holes in the body.
Most of the interior dismantled.
Some engine bay parts missing.

Put a fresh battery on & it still started & drove around my mate’s yard.

(I’ll get some pics as it has to be seen to be believed!)

The engineering that went into these cars is incredible & they are probably Porsche’s high water mark.
Excellent!

Here it is.

Amazing it even runs.

Yes thats a Mk.2 Jaguar next to it.

3.4 manual which has had it’s welding done.

Not quite sure if it’s going to become a fast road resto-mod or sold as is or restored & sold.

Non-sunroof shell which has had later S front spoiler added...

And yes, in terms of engineering integrity, they are indeed a high water mark for Porsche...

The new stuff may have better shut lines and contrast stitching, but scratch that shiny surface and they are made of shoite...

What started out as a very wet Friday got drier through Saturday and actually almost sunny by the time we left on Sunday.

Great selection of cars and races, among which were five Cobra Daytonas (didn’t ask if all were genuine), Ferrari 512, two Bentley LeMans cars, a 962, several T70s, two M1 Procars and lots and lots of 911s all merrily going round. There was also a 917 display and a few demo laps which were a privilege to see and hear.

Oh and possibly every 914 ever delivered to Europe there too - after the photo was taken it was probably double the amount in attendance.

Lovely weekend away, great company including my 80 year old father.

Definitely worth a visit although I think the Sept event with the 6hr endurance race may just be the better event.

Great pictures chap and thankyou for sharing.

Such an amazing circuit and what a fabulous array of cars, that Capri looks proper doesn’t it.

Great that you went with your father, some great memories thumbup

The different range of noises would’ve been fantastic, Spa at night would be pretty awesome yup.

On a totally different note, and no, I don’t want it, but this a lovely little thing and reminds me of my time doing school work experience at the local Toyota dealer;

It is, I've always loved Breadvans but that seems quite pricey for an early 5 speed with that mileage - and Black paint is hard work to keep looking clean. frown

I'd love an Imola Red or Estoril Blue one with the Bi-Colour interior and a 6 speed with the S54 engine. It might be the only thing that would tempt me away from my Z4M Coupe!

Ah, yes, you’re right. It was late and I didn’t read the ad properly.

A 6spd one is a lovely thing, albeit I’ve only driven the roadster, but I really liked it.

I don’t think I have ever seen an A8 on steels! Looks great.

I had the original A8 press pack binder and it had quite a few pictures of them on steels, always thought they looked really rather cool. Like you though, I have never actually seen one on the road.

UK is obsessed with massive alloys. And don't we buy more convertibles than any other country?
