Wonder if most people are put off by cars having over 150k miles.

I think so. Quality of engineering has advanced at a quicker pace than peoples acceptance I fear.

Still, I remember the era of dead at 80k miles CVH engines so it's hard not to blame them.

Ouch.

I saw a Lexus SC430 for £4k the other day. Had about 185k on it. Wonder if it sold in the end.

Blimey, a few years ago I sold a GS300 for my uncle that had almost 300,000 miles on it. Even with no MOT it still fetched 800 quid! nuts

Unless it's one of those cars which is actually a total hound up close, I can't understand why it hasn't sold. That would be 12 months of cost-free motoring right there, I'm pretty sure.

Timing belt was due, combined with the miles... it wasn't a total bargain.

Always best to start the bidding low to get people to watch it.

If I was to buy it, I'd do the belt. A lot of people would just chance it though and accept it as a run of good luck if they got a year from it.

Usually seen with anything MZZT and the KV6 engine.

Had a "haircut" (trade term), suprisingly common.

Almost had a look at EP3 Civic (Sport) locally, MOT advisory said low oil. Put me right off.

Can you report it? Surely it's fraud or something?

After five years I doubt anyone would care. The car is probably not far off the crusher.

If someone did enquire the previous owner would probably make some excuse about a new engine or instrument cluster or something and there is no way to prove that either way.

Barge or bargain?
Only a 2 litre, manual not auto, cloth not leather, drops it onto the top end of this thread rather than the bottom of barges smile

That looks rather lovely, though I'd be nervous about less than 2 months MOT left, even though it passed with no advisories last time and it's only done 1,000 miles since ...
Plus you have to factor in a replacement leather interior!
Because changing the interior on a £1000 car is the first thing on everyone's mind isn't it!
Yes this is pistonheads

biggrin I suppose it's fine if you can find a crashed one, buy it for £200 and strip it out.

Not much. But what else will need replacing over time? Don't these Lagunas have a horrific reliability reputation?
