On my phone it looked like the top side stripe was a Castrol green type colour but it appears not. That would look very cool though
I thought that too.Edited by L100NYY on Thursday 2nd June 11:51

Call me unambitious, but if I had to have only one car forever (no budget) come rain or shine, I would consider one of these.
Nothing unambitious about a £91k car.I do wish they'd sort out the badging. fk knows why it needs all that on there other than for willy waving GCWs.

Meh, I'd have a three year old, ex-mngt Skoda Octavia VRS with a remap and a "#becasuespeedmatters" sticker lovingly applied to the rear boot lid. I'd also fit one non-branded odd tyre in order to melt the internet. But in all seriousness, I found the 991.1 a hard car to love. It feels like a... well a mid-size saloon car inside.
And yet, in years to come, our forbears will decry the new 9999.1 911 with its hydroelectric-super-turbo 1.1 litre 3 cyl engine to be 'less raw' than the 'iconic' 991 on account that the 11 speed DSG auto 'box just doesn't offer the 'purity' of the 991's 'old school' 7 speed unit.
Likewise, the steering will come into criticism on account that, well, you don't need to steer it any more. Etc.

Years ago, when I was a spunk-infused know-it-all, I drove an Elise (several in fact). And guess what? I decried them as slow, rattley and overpriced.
Now, I'd rip your arm off to own one.
Problem is, I live on one of Tatooine's moons and regrettably, there aren't many Loti kicking about here.
Youth, as they say, is wasted on the young. As are 22 yr old girls, but that's for another thread.

I'd love an Elise. I could probably stretch to one eventually. But brilliant though it is, it lacks three things for me:
(I recognise that the Lotii might also throw some nbills but the 2GR-FE/FZE are less like melty chocolate...)
- A more interesting drive train (well a "nicer" more musical, preferably multi-cylinder, engine plus a more satisfyingly mechanical and snickety gearchange)
- Er..
- Ah...

Rover K series in a Lotus with the right induction & exhaust system gives a great gargly character and very unlikely to produce a big bill.
I hear ya captain Loon. I've also heard some nicely thrummy Lotii. But nowt beats the beat of more than four for me That's not to say I can appreciate or that I'm biased against fewer cylinders but I know what I like. Not all Vee/straight/flat 6/8s are necessarily "super-duper nice" but even the average ones tend to be a bit nicer than the equivalent 4 banger. Honda lumps are the sole exception this side of vintage Alfa fours imo. But I guess there are so many bases to cover in a sporting car - one wants response and top-end crackle but in m y case one also wants sonorous and aurally satisfying / sophisticated. Expensive / exotic sounding. Decent overall shove is nice but beyond ~150-200bhp per ton is not a by any means a prerequisite, even if the headroom over other road users can be useful.

Seems to me you're sort of there already - wouldn't be surprised if yours is even lighter
I know, I know - I'm an ingrate Fact is the old gal shifts pretty well and is about as quick up to circa 1.0 leptons as I imagine most things in the lotus range this side of a 311 type deal. No idea on weight but I'd hope for less than 1200kgs. Best case I think is around 1100kgs. But there is quite a lot of additional hardware beside engine and 'box! It needs some development and refinement but is cheeky and cool enough. So an Evora for a daily then? Edited by Diesel Meister on Thursday 2nd June 22:48
