Stretching 'barge' a bit, but this looks too lovely not to share. 18k miles and seemingly immaculate, for just £4k!
I really wish I could spare the cash at the moment. It could quite easily end up at 4-Star or similar for double the money

Very tempting to trade up to that from my 325i Coupe, but having spent lots of time and money on my car I'm a little reluctant.I really wish I could spare the cash at the moment. It could quite easily end up at 4-Star or similar for double the money

Have we had this 'vert yet? Rare colour and high spec. for not much dough:

I was going to go and view it today but bailed when the seller said he had had another offer for 5K and would I be able to better it.
In fairness to the seller he was prepared to hang on to it until I'd had a chance to view but in the end it was more than I'd want to pay.
If it had been a sport I'd have been all over it though.

Mercedes people,
There's a W124 buyers guide in Practical Classics this month. It's a little brief with some inaccuracies but worth a few minutes of your time in WHSmith.
The usual crap about facelifts being more desirable and so on. It's a good issue for Merc stories, though. There's a W124 buyers guide in Practical Classics this month. It's a little brief with some inaccuracies but worth a few minutes of your time in WHSmith.

What are you thinking of having done to the exhaust Oa?
One that exhausts gas at the rear for a start! SL exhausts seem to be quite hard to find and are very expensive from Mercedes, so it's cheaper to have one made instead. I am happy for a little more v8 noise at revs but lets see what the chaps suggest! When I hand the SL over I will collect the W124 from my usual garage where it has been having the one remaining section of the standard exhaust replaced - this week is 'exhaust week' in the the 0a house!

Mini-barge lifted from the retro thread. Under-budget, but a few jobs to do should lift it into here.
I may, allegedly, have made contact with vendor.Ray Singh said:

Shame it is a catd - but pictures of damage do not look too bad and no history.

I do not want a excessively noisy exhaust but the M119 has a lovely sound between 3 and 4k, so a little more vocal would be good, without a drone when cruising.

Looks like a decent example, 1 owner from new, miles are sort of high at 125k, but that's only 15k per year.

My holy grail barge was re-advertised today. If the 107 sells this week I will be off to dorset for a look. I think its cheaper than last time it was up? Passenger side lower sacco looks badly painted.

£50 more expensive! http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=1&a...http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C634195#
I agree with the above - the paint doesn't look quite right.
