Gorgeous looking car the F430, much prefer it to the over styled 458. Krikkit said:
Generally being fickle? You're right though.
Personally I think the 355 and 360 are the lookers of the last few years. The 430 I hate the front end, and the 458 just looks far too fussy to me (not to mention ridiculously big wheels that spoil its side profile).
I think the 360 has aged horribly. It looks awful, and its performance is weak. I've no idea why anyone would want one (other than to say they own a Ferrari).Personally I think the 355 and 360 are the lookers of the last few years. Now that's interesting. I think the 360 has aged very well, whilst the 430 is ageing badly in my opinion.I think your last statement is a bit strong too! However, it's your opinion and we're all entitled to them.

The performance is undisputedly worse. And it looks way uglier, imho. Gallardo pisses all over the 360. A fairer comparison if you want to look at Lambo v Ferrari would be the 430. And even then, the Gallardo wins.
They are both in the same general area - stunningly fast. It is not just about the last few 10ths of performance though. If you think it is, you are sadly missing the bigger picture. The early reviews on the Lambo did not rate the driving feel, IIRC.
That said, I am not here to to defend the 360 versus the Gallardo - they are both fabulous cars. They appeal to different people. But to say the 360 has weak performance is just foolish. Compared to 99% of cars on the road it has amazing performance.

There is no relevance in comparing a Ferrari to 99% of the cars on the road though. You need to compare it to similar brands/purchase prices/running costs/type of car. Personal opinion I know... but I think the 360 has dated badly in comparison to both the Gallardo and the 430. It is not just about the last few 10ths of performance though. Looks like Jaguar are on course to have a million "camo" cars driving around the country as a publicity/ advertising stunt again!
they're all at it FFS, it's just that Jag are based in UK. If they really wanted to transport the cars secretly they'd do it under cover, and i don't see why they have to be driven through towns etc for testing reasons.Blown2CV said:

Because normal people use cars for going into town? You know, little things like how easy is it to park, sight lines, transmission changes & behaviour at low speed, behaviour in traffic jams and the like. Just like a normal car would get used... Blown2CV said:

surely there are areas in the extensive testing facilities either at the factory, some other location, MIRA etc, where there is a town type scenario you can test it in. It's not like you have to test what it's like to actually go to B&Q in is it? Or is it...
How else will you get wear and tear testing of the interior? Stain, dust and scuff values of the different materials...Don1 said:
