With this one going for $8.47 million, I have no doubt that within a year or two you will start seeing them sell for over the magical $10 million mark. Although... something's just occurred to me. Since the price of the McLaren F1 is rising so rapidly and is now worth so much, I hope most of the owners don't start permanently keeping their cars in garages, worrying that if they take them out on the street that any little damage will kill value. Kind of like the 250 GTO. Very few owners exercise them regularly. Cars, especially the F1, were meant to be driven.
Depends on the owner. Nick Mason's 250GTO gets used pretty hard on track at the revival and probably loads of other places.Once you've got so much money that you have the life you want, extra is just another number: why not use the cars as they were intended?
I'm pretty sure the F1-owning people on here feel that way, even if they don't always have the time to drive the cars (which is another thing entirely).

Obviously it depends on the owner. I know Mason, Leno, Flemke, Atkinson, Chambers, Gordon Murray, Ron Dennis, and a couple other owners exercise them regularly, but what about the rest of them. The five of them in Brunei, the one in that private museum in Florida, pieces of automotive perfection just sitting there collecting dust.

Sad really isn't it. It's like buying the Mona Lisa and hanging it up above your toilet where no one else will see it.Some owners I am aware of that own 3 or more each are car collectors who value the car, not value the value of the car as the value of the value of the car is a drop in their money-ocean
I've just been going trough some bits in my cupboards and found this and thought I should share it on here.

When I was in year 11 at school I was lucky enough to get to visit the McLaren factory to see where the F1 was built I wasn't meant to be going as it was fully booked but someone dropped out at the last minute and I got a meassage saying mom had called saying she forgot I had a denist appoint so had to go home early. It was the best dentist appointment I have ever had
While looking though the bits and peices I also found a Media Pack form TWR Silk Cut Jaguar from 1991 so its been quite a nice hour of sorting out the cupboard

It's a mish-mash of Mclaren F1 memorabilia in a LARK 1996 GTR folder. You can get the contents in separate online auctions to build what is there. It is missing a picture of the LARK cars, both #13R [owned by Andy74b on here] and its sister car but has instead a couple of press postcards, a fold-out technical booklet on the F1, a flyer for the magnificent 'Mclaren At Le Mans - Pursuit of Perfection' Video, one part of the F1LM Press pack [the A4 glossy sheet with the LM on it] as well as a gtr lapel pin badge. To get all that on a trip to Mclaren, especially at 11 years old, must have been amazing!!
The sum of its parts don't equate to the potential sum someone could be willing to pay for it. The folder is the rarest part there as its very rare as most of the Mclaren press release folders were either gloss white, green or dark grey.
If you do intend on selling it, good luck with the sale!
