Nice story. I remember sitting in a Panavia Tornado at my "Uncles" ( he wasn't really just a friend of my Dad's who'd borrowed his orbital sander once ) Bomber base at RAF Lakenheath when I was about 10 years old. Had to empty my pockets of sweet wrappers, rubber bands and toy soldiers just in case the pilot went inverted and got a sticky blackjack wrapper stuck to his visor! I got spoiled rotten by the pilots in the officers mess. Fantastic experience for a young boy and something I'll never forget. Downton Mini said:

I too hope to keep some of the above for my children to be amazed at in the future
They're from last years Italy Tour. I'm sure he'll be along when the US is in daylight hours to add some pictures
You can see some of his pics here -

and if you are feeling flush, you can, like me, buy a copy of the book that contains images and the story of the tour for £400

He's dealing with real life, effectively. Hope all is well...
I am wondering at what point, given F1's continuing rapid ascent into the stratosphere price wise, Flemke will succumb and move the car on.£5m? £8m? £20m?

Well, he still owns it and some F1 prices have already exceeded the 1st 2 choices
Hmmm - not sure you'd get £8m for one a standard one - $8m perhaps.Mr F is alive and well and things are getting considerably more stable.
We should be testing the car next week with some brake mods - I'll take some pics and maybe some video, should anyone be interested.
