It’s just a flat roof, approx 6m x 6m. Possibly overkill on the joists!

Counting blocks it looks to be about 2500 mm

Is the lighting anything specific, or just led battens?

It’s the hex lighting system you see a lot of at detailers, but in a custom layout.

This is the absolute dream and my next project hopefully later this year which will be (I think) a similar size but with a vaulted ceiling.

Details on the lift please?

Harry has a nice collection of cars but not the best garage wink No lift, tools, oils, grease and other stuff hehe

Harrys is obviously impressive but not even close to some members on here in terms of collection or the garage itself

It’s an Automotech AS-4T36S, good kit but would recommend professional delivery and install because the component parts are exceptionally heavy!

I posted a few pictures in the garage flooring thread because, as opposed to paint or tiles, I went out on a limb and put down cheap wood effect flooring, really pleased with it so far and it seems impervious to oil dripped on it. Over the winter I have been panelling the ceiling with white faced panel board. Mainly to reflect light, and because it's a lot nicer then the exposed black roof felt that sucked all the light out of the place! I have made a small storage area on the left but mostly I wanted to retain the open look vaulted of the exposed timber. Yes I know it's only softwood timber trusses, not oak but I think it looks ok. It's a bit of a labour of love because I have to clamber up into the rafter with the nail gun to attach it but as I'm retired I do it a few bits at a time. Once finished I can add a few (repro) enamel signs as wall decorations/space fillers. After my recent efforts I'm over half way there so I thought I'd post a few pics. smile

Just saw this post of mine from March last year. I was in the garage today, 10 months on, still trying to finish paneling the ceiling. hehe I am getting there... honestly! When done I can press ahead with the rewire, new ring main and extra lighting etc.

20th Feb 2024 and I've finished paneling the ceiling, what a job but it was worth it. I started in November 2022 so it's only taken 15 months... hehe It's so much brighter in there now and as I don't want to paint the 'old stock' bricks it all helps. Now onto the re-wire and get some cabinets.

I’ve got terracotta sort of colour tiles that extend throughout my property. Would like something more eye catching in the garage alone but don’t want to re-tile really and the quality of tile is decent. Amy suggestions? Paint etc? Had issues before with paint on a concrete floor lifting on warm tyres and the house can get very warm as it is and sees 40+ temps in summer without any warm tyres.

Photo to give an idea. The walls etc all now been painted and sorted and tiles cleaned but gives an idea.

I suspect those tiles would look great with a bit of a tidy up. I don't recommend paint - quite an involved process. As you can see from my first pic below it lifts very easily (this is about 7 years of wear):

I covered the concrete floor with Duramat vented tiles:

Simple to lay and, four years later, they remain as good as new.

Got the keys to the new place today. First double garage, and the old nails have had a good go at destroying my jumper. Oh and one of the greyhounds has already christened the place by pissing in front of the door within five minutes.
