You see them on a lot of Japanese imports, I think they are supposed to aid parking.

Oh right, would it leave a hole in the bumper when it is removed or are they stuck on?

Comedy pricing on the Jap 210 but it does look pretty good. I disagree with the 'appreciating classic' status too! I may be biased but I think they are ok cars if the rust is absent.

Then this ultra-high spec UK car. Upgrade nappa leather. Ventilated seats. Rear blind. COMAND. It appears to have everything.

CLS with a proper engine in it. Within a haggle of thread budget.

It might be new-age Merc, but I do have a soft spot for the CLS.

Just spent a few days with a new CLS 350 courtesy of Hertz (knowing my secretary I was probably only booked for a Fiat 500 or some such sh*t) and I really liked it. A few shortcuts on the plastics / pleather but generally a very nice place to be and had fun with the radar cruise control which unlike that on my SL worked down to a stop and back up to Autobahn speeds.

Even the ipad stuck on the dash did not look as bad in the flesh as in the pictures I had seen

Clearly helped the seller park diagonally across a disabled bay.....

I really like this shape. If/when the 388 hp motor comes into thread budget I could be tempted.

Wasn't someone after a 140 the other day?

I reckon this could be a good bet. Gravel drive and all.

There's not a whole lot between the 306hp and the 388hp V8 in real world driving to be honest. The 306 hp is still a 6 second 0-60mph car.

£290 vs £505 VED as well.

I'd imagine next year the 5.5 will start dropping into this budget in several models once they are 10 years old.

I have this on my watch list.
Seems like an honest car.

I wonder if any W124 people (Oa perhaps)could help me locate the boot badge on my 124 saloon?

I forgot to take measurements before it was removed for painting and would like to get it 'just so' when I stick it back on. If someone could measure the distance from the black plastic trim beneath and the distance from the left edge of the bootlid, I would be really grateful smile

The 350 with the V6 is only 30hp less than the 500, obviously less torque, but still very respectable!

Good plan to DIY the badges. It's amazing how many body shops slap badges on wonky and in the wrong place, even after good quality paintwork. I'm not an OCD type but I would have to pull them off and do it properly.

Well, that's not much of a disincentive for them, is it?

I'm too nice natured, it's true.

What reprisal would you have in store for a wonky badge offender?

Bless you and your innocent, non-smutty mind. Please read it again from the perspective of a puerile teenage moron (me) and you can share my sniggers.
