It appears some bidding in the pub last night has landed me yet another automotive rarity.

It's very yellow! Will update you all when I collect it hopefully over the weekend

Well here is my bundle of yellow'ness

It'd been up for sale for over year at the top end of the thread budget, then it popped on an ebay auction listing with no reserve, so I kept my eye on it. Late last week whilst in the pub, I stuck a cheeky last min bid on & hey presto bounce

The 12v system/starter battery was a duffer when I picked it up, so everything died 5m down the road, the dealer kindly stuck a new one in & I limped it back with no main battery assistance thinking it might be a dudd (expensive!) Started it yesterday morning & bingo all systems go & fully charging main battery woohoo.

I currently have a nice blue one that shall now up for sale but have always been after a Citrus as it's called, which were the launch colour cars & the rare'est of them, and its a JDM car which I prefer. Some minor titivation required like a wing mirror to fix & paint some of the black bits, interior is pretty mint. All for within the half the thread budget bounce

It is a bit "in yer face" shout but I quite like it biggrin it did the return journey with no main battery assistance at 60+mpg so it can only get better than that now its all working properly.

I like that - for some reason I find it appealing!!!

I'm with you on that. If it was a 1.3 petrol I'd hate it. The electric bit combined with the odd bits like oh, the colour and the slightly ugly shape makes it very appealing

A retro hybrid - I understand there's quite a big following of these mk1 insights. I really like it!

Looks awesome. I think if an insight came up cheap enough locally to me I'd have one as a daily!

This 190 has a really good ad, and looks like fair value: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C786769

Not bad. But I'd spend the extra £500 on this....

As much as I love classic cars and associated nostalgia, I can't think of any circumstances where I'd want an Allegro estate. I'm glad that someone does though.

Boring colours though. The petrol blue one will always be more appealing.

The grey one looks a good example though, and has an under-stated charm.

If that was the one of the pavement with the ns next to a wall and the os nearest the road with the rear nearest the camera and no numberplates on it, it may've caught my eye on eBay too.

I'm doubting shed economics if a £500 shed costs five times that over five years in RFL and insurance, so considering cheaper RFL stuff.

Seriously, you might need to seek help.

Unless you want it as some sort of ironic project car with an AMG V8 engine or something.

I saw (or at least noticed) my first one the other day. Would happily buzz around town in one. I'm sure the rear wheel width is narrower then the front. I know there's a thread about whether the first gen Insight is a petrolhead car, and for me it is. Any car where the manufacturer gives the engineers free reign is IMO.
