Here is something completely different for you all. Don't know if it'll get any love but it is definitely retro and different!

Anyone ever see me, and think "Corr, I wish I was more like him!" No? Well, if for some reason you did, now's your chance to grab two vital accessories:

Citroen BX 16v! Or in this case, a 'citreon'.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152434405191?_trksid=p20...

Was at £2200 yesterday, but some bids have been cancelled/retracted. The windscreen issue means there will be some welding to do, and I'd bet it's not the only place. That all said, they're very rare, so if you want one....

And....

1991 Citroen AX GT. Says it's a Sportif model, but I would assume it's a regular GT with some Sportif stickers on it...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142280088853?_trksid=p20...

Rare now, but that's a project! I'll probably have to sell mine soon anyway, so really you should all just hang on for that one hehe

A weekend's work, and the car's a good'un.

There is so much wrong with that car. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

I've owned a P5B Coupe for 17 years so...

Yeah, yeah, but apart from real world experience, what's wrong with it?

I have no interest in tinfoil Citroens at all... but that's really rather sweet.

Nothing whatsoever if you like rust and crying.

I've seen much worse restored but they can soak up money like you wouldn't believe if they've gone beyond a certain point.

Oh frown

I can see there's been some filler in the past but a quick search shows it's half the price of most of them - I was getting interested.

If its local go and have a look. Open the back doors and check around where the sill meets the wheel arch. Any trace of rust breaking through, then unless you're up for major welding work on a complex section, walk away.

If its cheap, its cheap for a reason.

I've never seen a P5 in that colour. Its a saloon and they are cheaper anyway. Saloons should not be two tone. They look very wrong whereas Coupes suit it.

I wouldn't say its that cheap and I'll bet you'll spend three time the purchase price getting it into good shape.

The air filters are wrong, there's no cover on the fuse box (not good) the power steering reservoir is rusty - never seen one go rusty before). Never seen one rust around a headlight either.

In the narrative the seller seems to be saying its rust free except where there's rust. smile

Now sold unfortunately but this was on the Owners club site back on 6th Feb: 1973 P5B Coupe, bordeaux red with grey roof, repainted three years ago and new chrome door handles fitted together with new filler cap., new tyres, better wheels. MOT till August 2017, showing 97,000 miles, my car since 1993 but back problems have stopped me looking after it. Loads of history with it and a boot full of spares. A good condition 2 car, needs a few jobs doing to it but is quite usable as is.

Looking for £5,000 based in Burton-on-Trent. Email for any questions.

Now, bear in mind that's a Coupe which sell typically for between 50 and 100% more than Saloons and you'll see how optimistic the pricing on that saloon really is. It might be good for someone who wants to modify it substantially but as a long term ownership experience for a rolling resto it would not be a good option in my opinion.

I also really like this. The AX has a simple charm to it.

Now that is lovely, I wasn't aware of the BX Sport so kudos to the seller for the history lesson smile

It's great, isn't it? For years when they were available new I wanted a BX GTI or 16V, never had one. I'm having a massive burst of wantage for one right now.

Presumably it will pass in a while, but right now it's a very distracting urge.

When these were new I thought them disappointingly unradical, but looking at them now I realise they were just as radical in style as any other Citroen, just differently so.
