Found one! F reg 500 SEL, wrong interior (Anything wrong with a cloth interiored W126?), low miles (apparently) & £465 under thread budget.

Any good?

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=1...
In the same sentence the seller says it has no rot underneath yet it needs two lots of welding for the MOT. He a small scale car dealer, why would he sell without an MOT if it genuinely needs so little done? Claims it's been fully serviced, again why would it have a service and not have an MOT? He suggests it's done 20000 miles but has no history and 4 previous owners. He says the leather has cracked but it's got cloth seats and none of the photos seem to show what he's referring to. Seller has some poor feedback.

I would want it to be very cheap if buying unseen.

Unless I was buying it for bits I wouldn't want it at all.

It's a fine thing, still, it'll have a good new home

560 Club

300SE's at home ... there is another couple of undeclared 560s; an SEL breaker and a SEC in the body shop.
Seeing that pic has made me want a W126 (in fact this whole thead has dangerously made me want an old Mercedes Benz) before you (bosscerbera) buy every example left!

This from a guy who loves Jaguars. paperbag
DO IT!

I've had three so far because of this thread. A 380 SEC, a 500 SE and currently a 500 SEC.

For those who like barges of the two door variety, this seems like a cheap 8 series:

I thought so too, given the mileage - most of similar mileage are double the price.

O/T lovely looking 964 you've got, btw.

What kind of damage would putting that 330 into 12k miles a year use do to my wallet?

Very little I would have thought. Manual, non turbo straight 6 is pretty reliable.

What sort of money do 330s that are three years older and that have done 60k fetch? (assuming you keep it 3 years)

Might give you an idea of what you'd lose in depreciation. As for running costs, I'd guess fuel will be the biggy, depending on useage.
