After owning a few GS and a brace of new BX's, my Dad came so close to buying one like this. Love the CX!
Just reading the thread from the beginning, so apologies if a repeat, but that Sprint is still for sale.

Has anyone been to see it? I had one 20 years ago (God, I feel old just saying that), loved it. Highly tempted by the thought of another.

Thinking about it, didn't he also design the Peugeot 604? - So that's another design of his I love!
1 basic design = 4 cars. Nice work if you can get it.

E500 estate - elegance stealth spec spec.

2004, 74k miles

10 bags is a lot for a 2004 motor, but it looks like it's from the discretion spec pages of the Merc brochure. I think that section has been discontinued for quite a few years, sadly.

It is worth half that on a good day with the wind behind it, 13 year old big engined W211 that isnt an E55 for ten grand, no chance.

Nice car, but I agree. It's grossly over-priced.

Yes, I'm sure you are right.

The local Indy might be James Leigh's - worth a call to anyone interested.

One benefit of it not being an E55 might be the relative simplicity.

I know that everything is relative, but a 21st century V8 Mercedes is definitely not a simple car!

The wheels were what told you it was the 6sp top model ( if you couldn't see the badge ). On a white Cavalier you always thought 'unmarked police car' smile
From memory only V6 and Turbo Chavalier and Calibras were 5 stud, everything else was 4 stud. Just realised it was 21 years ago I worked in a Vauxhall parts department eek
Yes, that 16" design was bespoke to the Turbos though wasn't it?
Yes Turbo only, V6 had 5 spoke alloys or steels from memory
Yes, the 5-spokes were like this

I know what you're thinking hehe

That does look nice though, and pre-facelft for the full "they honestly thought that was a good idea?" effect.

Seems like a silly amount of money compared to a soft-top (and because it is), but my god it's hot.

Would need a manual conversion too.

The interior is very red, isn't it?

But it looks lovely - they've aged very well. Not well received at the time, but like a fine wine, they've improved with age.

Small engine, but looks lovely. Cheap for one of these too, so that fact they've covered the VRN makes me suspicious.

I actually prefer the six, whether 280 or 300, in an R107. It's not a car for going terribly fast in, anyway. Agree that it would need careful inspection, especially of the bulkhead.

I agree entirely. I've asked for the VRN so I can do a proper MOT check.

It's now dropped by a grand but probably needs to go another two, before it's at the right price.

Not sure if this is a true barge but it is a hell of a lot of car, for just under great budget. Plus the dealer should get credit points, for not saying it's got the Lamborghini engine in it..
I'm sure there are lots of good reasons, why you shouldn't own a 5.2 V10 but I'm pretending I can't think of any at the moment.
