Does the trainer with the CPC take the ultimate responsibility? What would the TC say if he/she (and if its she theyd be fked) knew that the CPC holder didnt act as the transport manager and that untrained clerks were performing the function?

I see operators licence restrictions in their future - 5 to 10 vehciles down for three months wouldnt be unusual.

To answer the devils advocates question: an inexperienced/ignorant and possibly prejudiced car driver who regards all professional drivers as cowboys, and mistakenly believes that anyone exceeding 50mph on his speedometer is dangerous.

Further to the above: speed was the main complaint and near accidents were an embelishment, the icing on the cake if you like. If he was really nearly crashing into people then that would have been the reason for the complaint.

As it wasnt and because his speed wasnt as described, then I think that my explanation above covers it.

Thinking a bit more there is 2 cpc holders.Overall manager and the other to do training for the rest of the office staff.Although this training seems to be a case of 10-15 minutes discussions rather than a laid out training module.
As it is they do get by legally running it like that, although some of the mis-information the cpc holder trainer comes out with could possibly raise a few eyebrows.
There is a new overall manager atm overhauling the set up left by the old manager. It's not a case of heres the new manager just like the old manager to be fair.
Early days yet.

I'm interested to know as in 10 years I've never worked with office staff who don't understand at least the basic rules of what drivers have to do and abide by - its pretty poor if an operation has people who don't understand in my opinion.

Perhaps using the bks word was uncalled for though.
I've worked in transport for the last 4 years and I've never worked at a place where it's not like this. Incompetence in the majority of the office.

There is good and bad in every operation I totally agree. I've worked with some right wkers who don't have the knowledge they should have.

The biggest wker I've worked with is in fact me.

Apparently, a report shows that I did exceed 60mph at some point that day. It happens on steep downhill stretches of road.
I hope you're more prepared with your statements other than the above if they take it any further...
There, I've edited it to make it clearer for you.
