Preventing doors from icing shut?
Discussion
I went out to de-ice my car this morning and it took me a while to get my car door open – it had iced shut! This happened a few times last year too.
Is there anything I can do to help prevent this from happening?
I am thinking some kind of waterproof grease (Silicone grease?) that I can wipe along the rubber door seals which will not perish the rubber.
Any ideas?

Also very good to stop rubber seals drying out in summer.Unfortunately the OE BMW item is NLA.

Very thin smearing of Vaseline Petroleum jelly on the rubbers (ooo err) will help also.
NNNooooooooo, any petroleum based products will rot the seals ...M
One site even said use brake fluid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Wouldn't this strip all the paint from around the doors?)
Has anyone ever tried using Silicone lubricant spray for this job? I already have some in the garage.
- UPDATE *
I opted for the "3-in-1 Silicone Spray" approach. I sprayed some on to a paper towel and wiped this along the rubber door seals of the driver’s door. My first observation was the amount of grime this lifted off the seals!
Anyway This morning there was a heavy frost again (worse than yesterday's).
Door opened first time with no problems at all!!!!
I totally recommend a quick wipe of Silicone Spray around the seals if you suffer from frozen doors.
I had the stuck door problem this morning.
Nothing would budge either of them, (semi pillared doors.)
They were at the stage where I'd released the catch but they were stuck solid.
So I opened the boot, slammed it shut and both doors popped open!
I'm prefering the silicon grease approach though, might nip down to Hellfrauds after work!
