The government has finally opened the consultation, considering changes to the law to allow local authorities to suspend the road traffic act without an act of parliament, effectively opening the way for UK road rallying, sprints and hillclimbs! :nerv::dance::nice:

Spam this everywhere you can, any one that calls themselves a car enthusiast should be backing this, it's only open till 10th April so make sure your opinion is counted!

This definitely deserves promotion and support. I've always found it odd that it's possible to close a road for a running or cycling race event but not for motorsport. Road racing was responsible for many of the greatest motorsport events and venues. Passing this legislation would align motorsport with many other competitive sports and also our policies with Mainland Europe and other parts of the British Isles.

More to the point, don't move this to the motorsport forum, keep it in general gassing where it'll get a lot more views.

Agree - can this be made into an article for the Front Page? - Needs all the support we can get!

Meh. Brecon Beacon TT more like. Proper tarmac rallies too.

Think there will be a serious amount of nimbys sadly.

I see brake have been consulted.

Their input should prove some free heating for thousands of PH bladders I'm sure. hehe

evo Triangle map times?

Could this also put some sort of measurement on the fastest point to point car debate?

Responded. Tarmac rallying like they have in Ireland would be a dream. The amount of money in it for local communities is huge!

Would be interesting to see their position, as I don't really see it as relevant to their stated core campaign.

I suspect that the real agenda will be to have lots more bicycle races.
