Invisible Vauxhalls
Discussion
Now, before we start, I'm not some kind of anti-Vauxhall zealot. I think they are perfectly worthy and capable, just like VW and Ford. The Astra and Corsa may not be the most inspiring of vehicles, but they are not actually bad either.
That said, Vauxhall now sell a whole load of vehicles that you simply NEVER see on the roads. Here's a list:
- Agila (you often see the Suzuki version)
- Adam
- Cascada
- Mokka (yes really)
- Antara
Who are they making them for exactly? Are they selling and I'm just not seeing them because they are so bland, or are they just not selling?
Anyone on here seen/driven/own one of the above?

I've seen a couple of the 4x4/SUV types about. Never seen an Adam or the Cascada (had to google it - looks like an open top astra).
Shame really, they used to make pretty good cars but I guess their reputation hasn't recovered yet. Insignia and Astra look like decent cars. Insignia semi reminds me of what Vauxhall used to produce aka the Carlton and Senator.

I've seen an Ampera. It was hiding in the storage yard around the back of a Vauxhall dealership and just about visible from the road.
I had to look on the vx website to see if they even were on sale.
It's a shame as it is arguably the most interesting Vauxhall product.
Edit to add: I have never understood why GM don't bin the Vauxhall brand and rebrand as Opel and start pretending to be German rather than pretend to be British (do they even build any cars here anymore?)

I agree, but I HAVE seen quite a few Amperas about. Maybe because they are the most distinctive car Vauxhall make I notice them more. I had to look on the vx website to see if they even were on sale.

The Adam and Mokka at least are new and I imagine will sell in quite big numbers in the coming years. The Adam (despite the name) is actually a cracking little car.
Yeah, it looks pretty good in the magazines, but I've yet to see one on the road.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
