Do the lights in here still work? Lets brush off the cobwebs and see if we can fire it up....

The receivers official report into the demise of Saab is published tomorrow. A couple of nuggets have already been leaked.

2.) They are very interested to know why, if was this case, 40 million SwK was paid to Mr Muller and GM between then and when the company finally went bust a year ago.

The Swedish press is also reporting that their Serious Fraud Office is about to launch an investigation into Saab/SWANs tax affairs.
Spykers head office in Holland raided by the Swedish Fraud Squad this weekend in reference to the tax affairs of the board of Saab.

Three former board members of the company arrested and questioned. Released again pending further enquires. Muller has been requested to go in for questioning at a date to be confirmed but he has not been implicated or charged.....yet.

What are the Swedish authorites mainly interested in? It seems to be the employment status of certain directors within the former company, the methods by which they appear to have been paid and especially payments made to a company called TUG Holdings.

Now, where have we heard that name before? scratchchin

Doesn't surprise me in the least.....
As you might imagine given my views about Mr Muller it doesn't surprise me much either.

Standard police/taxman behaviour too. Frighten the little fish in the hope they will grass up the big, bad cod.

In case anyone is interested or even remembers this;

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-19153200

To absolutely no ones surprise at all, it was thrown out of court yesterday by a Judge in Detroit.

If he had have won that case, all of the $3 billion would have gone directly to Spyker (Owner. Mr V.Muller.), there would have been nothing for any of Saabs creditors.

Good job he never had a prayer.

A source has sent me a Swedish link that says that virtually a year to the day since they tried to save it NEVS, the half Swedish/half Chinese company that bought the remains of SAAB to turn it into an all electric brand, are laying off workers and have basically run out of money.

It is rumoured (here we go again...) that are trying to sell it on to Mahindra (here we go again...).

SAAB gone. Again. frown

Either it's a case of once bitten, twice shy or because NEVS haven't got Mr Mullers silver tongue, but it seems the bankruptcy petitions and debt notices from NEVS suppliers are flying in thick and fast...

I don't think its going to be anywhere near as long and drawn out this time as it was the last.

Jesus wept talk about deja vu...

Now all we need is some Swedish car obsessed 70's glam rock music fan to start threatening me again and the circle will be complete.

The most interesting thing in that article ( and its being reported elsewhere.) is that Saab the aircraft company, have finally withdrawn the rights to the name so even if NEVS do come back from this they won't be called Saabs anymore.

Can't say I blame them to be honest. I'd have taken it back after the Muller debacle.

...shuffles in, mumbling about 70s pop stars, stroking cobwebs out of beard......

If anyone still cares?

http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/electri...

So that would appear to be finally that. No more 9-3s out of Trollhatten pretending to be electric cars. The whole lot sold off to the Turks to be their peoples car.

That's it. All over. Time to turn out the lights.

.....shuffles off, cackling something about VW's next....

Hey, what do you know, its back.

Nice to see this thread back and that people are beginning to discuss Saabs as classic cars. I would love to be able to invest in a 9-3 Aero preferably in black or a good 9-5 Aero auto Estate but no space or funds at the moment. I would probably give the 9-5 3.0 tdi (Belgrano) or the 9-3 Viggen Convertible (the wobblin' goblin) a miss though!

Truth be told all of this makes feel a little sad. I was a different person back then to a certain extent & not sure I could get the energy levels together to do something like this again. Still it was fun; translating articles from Swedish, getting encouragement from Garlick, checking out insanely hopeful Saab fan message boards & then getting threatened by some of their members. Plus receiving emails from people who used to work for the brand in UK at a level much higher than I did with stories of the unbuilt prototypes

9-5 Hatchback,9-3 Mk 1 'fixed head' Coupe. Basically that model convertible with the roof mechanism removed. Was going to be Saab's CLK and of course the Saab Speedster, the VX220 badged as Saab. The source told me at least one existed and was focus grouped positively and was weeks away from being signed off before GM changed their mind. Idiots, idiots.

Sorry if I've mentioned these before but its Sunday and its getting lateish and I don't want to go back through the thread, too many memories. That's the trouble with the internet, the good stuff you've done and the bad never really go away. All just opportunities you missed.
