What is this nonsense about wanting 3 door? The whole point of a hot hatch is to be practical AND fun. And 3drs are anything but practical. They're a pain in the arse.

^ True, but the economics mean it's the only sensible option for Renault. You'll alienate a lot of people with no 3 door, but you'll alienate a heck of a lot more people with no 5 door.

I still don't see what is nonsensical about preferring 3-doors.
My Meg RS is very practical as a 3-door. I don't need access to the rear and it optimised access to the front. It therefore makes sense for me.

I have a previous gen Civic Type R - 3 door only, it works very well for me too, we looked after a friends nipper a while back and getting the child seat in/out was easy enough due to the size of the doors!

It's not at all nonsensical. It's just economics: There are not enough people for it to make a profitable venture for Renault.
