EP3 is a terrific, fun little car. I wouldn't want to travel 100s of motorway miles in one but as a daily I loved mine. Agree though - the ATR is even better and the DC5 is in a different league due to the steering/lsd. Have owned them all.
How do you rate the DC5 compared to the ATR specifically?Sorely want to try a DC5 but they're still a bit too pricey for me to justify at the moment.

Loved mine and wish I kept it for longer, only issue was the chavvy image....
Made a great road tip in it though and was absolutely faultless (if far too low!)
I was the guy who bought your Civic - excellent car and I un-lowered it for you information and adjusted your ludicrous camber .Made a great road tip in it though and was absolutely faultless (if far too low!)
Didn't miss a beat, was enjoyable to drive, a normal hatchback when you just wanted to go shopping and a crazy Japanese btch when required. Also a surprisingly high amount of cubby-holes and cupholders.
Sold it a few months ago to buy a DC2 Integra - quite a bit rawer but fewer cubby-holes

Which is what I did. I bought one near the bottom of the price range, 125,000 miles and still pulling as it should. I've had it a year and have slowly rebuilt the front suspension and brakes in that time. Took it to Le Mans and back, and also had the odd blast over the North York Moors with assorted TVR's and such like. Then in three weeks time it'll be having some fresh engine oil and a good thrashing round Cadwell Park.
Stupidly cheap for whats on offer, and they've been round for long enough thats theirs lots of spare parts, and DIY guides plus fixes for most of the major issues.
Awesome, do you have a build thread, I'd love to have a read... Not that I need much encouragement lol!Stupidly cheap for whats on offer, and they've been round for long enough thats theirs lots of spare parts, and DIY guides plus fixes for most of the major issues.

overrated imo and the steering is one of the numbest of any car I've ever driven
Agreed. I had its 'rival' at the time. A 182 with both cup packs. Dynamically it smashed the Civic. OK the gearshift wasn't as good and the cabin was built to lower standard but I preferred the Clio engine and the handling was other worldly compared. Sadly now, most have awful chavvy mods. Which is a shame as they aren't a bad looking car...in black.
On a fast flat and winding road there are few cars I've enjoyed more. Utterly magnificent drivetrain and the noise is just incredible. On my test drive I hit the change over in 2nd after a few mins after leaving the dealership (warmed up by the sales team first) and muttered "bks." I knew instantly that my intended poker face was now useless as I'd be grinning insanely over negotiations. Bought it, loved it, would have another....but would change the suspension as it's awful on normal roads.

I actually half wish I still had it you know, especially when I saw it in the harvester car park a few months after selling it
Enjoy the DC2, another one on the watch list!

The Eibach springs are a popular choice, returning a little ride comfort without any major negative.Neil_M said:

Terrible steering and very questionable traction on the Bridgestone Reo5s or whatever they were.
Take away the engine and gear-change and you are left simply with a very average chassis and not much else imho.
Most disappointing and overrated car I have ever bought. Given all the thrash bash and hype not that quick either at the end of the day.
